Can't make my mind up about Norwood. Either he is trying too hard or nothing quite works for him at the moment BUT then he scores a sublime finish.

Seems to be soo frustrated on the pitch sometimes-is it the standard of players around him, the style of play or with himself?

Mind you he should be frustrated after Lundstram refused that pass to him in the first half.

Oh and Hudson drives me crackers-how he got away without a booking yesterday for time wasting escapes me. Be interesting to see if Mellon tries to speed up the pace of play and ditch the long kicking.

Noticed this the last home match telling the fans to hang onto the ball to try to slow things down. It gives out the wrong signals and as witnessed yesterday doesn't kid some refs.

As forecast previously the much vaunted "purge" on timewasting has subsided and we only get occasional bookings at lower level football and none whatsoever in the premier division just a prolonged match.

Don’t get why anyone who comes through the youth team gets protection or made out as some hero playing for  out of position. If we signed Sutton he would be slated. Good enough or not, simple. As for the stewards there paid prob min wages, would you jump in for that? I know I wouldn’t not there fault no matter what happens!

Wouldn't say people on here are easy on him, probably giving him  a little leeway for playing out of position.

I haven't heard anyone saying he should be a first choice at full back so we definitely need one asap as Green provides little support.

This year's stand out is Alfie Atherton, he will go even higher IMO.

Shame our youth hardly get a chance to establish themselves here before being sold to EFL clubs.

The state we've been in the last few years it's not been a great environment for blooding youngsters.

Perhaps towards the end of the season we may see a couple make their debuts if we're comfortably in the play-offs and no chance of being champions !  🙂 👍

l've defo grown as a person but lm shill keepin that badge!!

found out last week lve either got early onset alzheimers or post concussion syndrome. mix that with the Aspergers and lots of sfuff makes more sense!!!!!

Can never tell if you're being serious Monty ( I get a headache halfway through reading most of your posts 😉 ) but if you are good luck for the future.

I'm my brother's carer, who's got early onset dementia, and it's pretty hard work.

The few times he's happy are when Latic's score, he's having a pint (shandy) or somebody wins some money on bloody Tipping Point !!

Best Wishes to anyone in poor health. 👍

  5. Ref on Saturday is James Westgate from Sunderland who is taking only his 4th game at this level after being promoted. In his previous 3 games he's booked 15 players.

Surely they could have found a more experienced official for a local derby or did they want a repeat of last year's horrendous performance from a rookie versus Halifax. 👎

The old players player award. Sheron can’t pass a football, I don’t care about awards he gets for being a long distance runner. I’m sure Mellon will get rid / drop him asap.

From what we've heard about Mellon from previous club's fans Sheron would be one of the first on the team sheet, unless he can sign an upgrade. I think Nuttall and Tollitt are the ones who should be worried.

They knew at the start of the week, they also knew the club wouldn't have Mellon in place for the FA cup game. Club hadn't planned on announcing anything until Monday. Contract only signed Friday and they'd had to rush that to get something out last week.

Both Thompson and Redfearn are absolute wankers in my book. Neither with an ounce of care about the club, the fans and the cup game.

Paul Murray proper latics cult hero.

Bit harsh in your level of personal criticism but agree they've not handled rejection very well.

Staying another couple of days would have shown a bit more class.

I don't listen to commentary as I cannot enjoy [if we ever do] the game the same as watching it. I'm waiting to read more on how Latics played when the fans who went post their thoughts on here.

Bits I listened to early on their commentators said we were having the better of things and  finding plenty of room down their right flank. I came on here and people were posting how we were poor and struggling once again.

I suppose everyone's eyes don't always see the same picture.
