Shrewsbury's budget is much bigger than ours was because they get a lot of income from their stadium, and bigger crowds (no-one would have thought that years ago). If I remember rightly their chairman said that the stadium brought in around £700,000 a year.
iirc didnt our plastic carpet bring in similar amounts for us ?

If I remember rightly that’s about the figure it cost last time a major overhaul on the pitch was undertaken, around 2001 or 2002? It was said at the time that the pitch would have a lifespan of around 10 years. The council footed the bill as they were the landlords at the time but I think they added this to the purchase price when brassbank arrived in town. Since then (since the ten years elapsed) I think it’s just been a case of make do and mend
iirc werent blunts fans moaning that they had spent circa £750k on thier pitch last season to help their promotion push and ours was like a rice paddy

It will be very interesting to see our defensive line up on Saturday. We've got very little experience or quality there now if Gerrard is out. Wilson as steady but hasn't had the game time. Stott is still raw. Ryan Mc is only just back. Hunt is shaky, Bryan needs the experienced head. Edmondson out. Clarke to bury seems like a silly move now. Going to be a big week for us. 10 days left of a crucial window.
stotts on loan at stockport till end of season unless we recall

Good points to make and Tarky also went for more than 200k, I'd say it was more than double that with the sell on clause cashed in, what galled me more about the player sales was the way any proceeds were diverted into a project the club saw little or no benefit from, it was sold to us as the game changer and the austere measures we were placed under for three or four years whilst the building was completed effectively crippled us and for what?, its been bad decision after bad decision and the one thing thats suffered in all this is the footballing side.
I personally want a chairman whose priority is the football side who isn't using a football clubs good name for self gain and who has some pride in putting a team out to compete not just survive.
we have a good name after lee hughes and chedgate ?

I have said this before, and probably sound like Jack Byrne's carer, but Wellens has been really like a weird bird about Byrne. He slated him in the paper, dropped him, made out that he wasn't too fussed about keeping him, and has then gone all out to sign him after saying we would have won at Charlton if he was in the team. A bit bipolar...
maybe its Ritchies method of telling ALL the first team players that nobody is bigger than the team no matter how well they are playing and indispensable they are he knows Byrne is big enough and strong enough to handle it but others aren't and this in an indirect method of kicking them up the arse
-
coming slightly off topic but those complaining about our defence just look at the bottom three in the highland leagues figures makes us and bury look positively frugal

is there an echo in here... here ... here ?

I dunno, I just like footballers who don't spend most of the game being bullied off the ball, and the rest of it either losing possession or being caught offside. Fair play, he scores the odd goal
would that be the odd 11 goals in half a season which is more than any of our strikers have managed in a full season for the last three ?
he can carry on wasting a shirt on his arse for the remainder of the season for me

read a thread on facebook about the old mural on the wall of the iron foundry where tesco is now by featherstall road roundabout can just about remember it myself . now my question is could we have something similar painted onto the gable end of one of the old terrace houses across from the chaddy featuring club badges and former greats with the homeowner permission of course ?
fund it from donations from supporters trust involvement ?
just throwing it out there as an idea
