Would all decisions have been made or is there a history of late maintenance related ideas around the last weekend before the financial new year?

maintenance work is planned 26 weeks in advance so that the TOCs can plan their timetables well ahead so you would know all about it by now emergency work now thats another story

Spot on, i’ll be in Bury for 11:30 and set off for home games at 14:15, I go with someone disabled so walking isn’t much of an option, i’d go at dinner time spending money if there was a supporters club with sky sports.

Because they are used to the pitch and there is less disruption to their preparations (Not as much time spent travelling)...

plus they "know" the ground remember being told by carl valentine he didnt need to be able to look up before he crossed the ball he could glance sideways and know where he was by position of the advertisements  pretty much the same with the goal in the chaddy view obstructed  by a defender he knew where to place the ball using the infamous pillars

Boiling water kills grass. That was the groundsmans idea.

The groundsman would not be responsible for sanctioning the hiring of such equipment. Responsibility for not doing that sits with those above. We'll be more out of pocket not getting the game on.

they may struggle to hire such equipment having on previous occasions failed to honour an invoice for rental untill legal proceedings were instigated leading to a marked reluctance to allow repeat hires this was from the manager of the local franchise himself

Seeing as there were apparently dozens of local pub team pitches/cricket pitches/people’s gardens that were all perfectly playable yesterday, going off this thread, we should just ask them what equipment they used during the week to protect against the frost.

one suspects good old fashioned sunshine as doubt many of those clubs and parks suffer from having a stand that leaves a section of  there pitch in permanent shadow

i wonder had the game gone ahead and bryne or another of the key players had picked up an injury on that section of the pitch how many would be howling that the game should never of gone ahead

I hope so, one has resigned already, so there are only 4 off the top of my head Al, Brooke, Hill, Owen?

Brooke via the Trust holds the 3% cat B shares and owns his own successful  marketing business., Al 97% and has the contacts and the money,  Owen, off the top of my head is not from a business type back ground but has history/knowledge about the club that could be useful. I don't know much about Hill

hill is something to do with Ryder & Dutton isnt he ?
