Just watched the highlights, Lang isn't offside for his goal. Onside when it's flicked back in and level when the flick on is made. Presume Edmundson was off who then challenged the keeper.
Can't fault the effort of any of them yesterday. COG ran his socks off.
Thought the winner should have been disallowed for Clarke's push but we'll take it.
would love to know how their defender got away with his studs up off the ground two footed lunge on Gardener in the build up defo warranted a card

just seen the winner how the studs up lunge just before didn't warrant a card i will never know

I saw most of game clinging on from the floodlight pylon in latics end as I was only eleven.
You can find it on YouTube as Yorkshire tv televised the game as we were both promoted that season.
i was there that day wasnt the last away that was plymouth after the 6-0 v hudds and the usual tics anti climax a 1-2 home defeat by charlton !

I post very rarely these days, having learned that it is far too easy to make a tit of oneself by typing what you think is sense, to an audience that is likely anything but the mirror you think you are relating to. Overly simplified, there are usually seven or eight types of supporter depending on age, length of time supporting, mental maturity and the positive and negative outlooks among us.
What strikes me as odd over the past twenty four hours or so is how many people seemingly defy their attitude toward players and club in comparison to their behaviour yesterday afternoon. There was a unity among all in the stands....a feel good factor the likes of which i've not seen for a while. There was certainly a connection to the players and staff throughout and particularly at the end of the game. A huge number stayed on after the final whistle for quite a while, and the bond between fans and players was evident.
I'm among the first to admit that we were lucky to get away with 2-0. I'll take issue wuith those who complain we were overrun in the second half, because i believe if we'd gone in 0-0 at HT, we would have adopted different tactics after the break than we ultimately did, having gone in with a lead that yes, flattered us a bit. Despite how it turned out, we take the win and move on, just as we would were it a defeat....but i have to say i saw not one angry man or woman leaving the stadium yesterday....just a jubilant bunch and yes, a few, myself included who were discussing with others the fact that Morecambe were a tad unlucky to come away with nowt.
How it is then, that so many are suddenly aghast at how poor we are, both as a team and as a club. After such a terrific day out and such a feeling of euphoria and unity at the end, this message board today is somewhat baffling. It's almost as if the drive home passed through some sort of barrier whereupon the feel good factor was washed away by the reality of returning to Oldham. It comes across to me as some strange denial whereby people are embarrassed to have had a good time yesterday!

Got to agree that as a team probably the best ever but there would be individuals from other eras equal or better to the team of the late 80's.
Joe,although an excellent manager also had more luck than a Euromillions winner, for example a few signings that turned out half decent...
Earl Barrett................ £ 35,000
Paul Warhurst............£ 10,000
Denis Irwin.................£ free
Even though it has always seemed to be a constant financial struggle at Boundary Park, fees of £100.000 for Neil Adams and £165,000 Rick Holden were in today's world probably valued at more like £ 300,000 -£450000.
Maybe he did have a bit more in the kitty to play with than there is now but i think we can be pretty certain he could spot a player and get the most out of them.
One more point Ian Olney considered by many fans at £750,000 a massive flop, when asked of this Joe will always maintain that were it not for injury Olney would have been a great player for us.A young player who was keeping Alan Shearer out of the England under 21 team.
I don't begrudge him signing a few clowns like John Keeley and Brian Kilcline nor recommending the likes of Duffus ( he may even come good)
Joe Royle gave me and many others a once in a lifetime adventure and for that he will always be a Legend.
Andy Ritchie ..............£80,000 absolut bloody steal

The hotel part is a bit bogus. Are you saying we should only sign players who live within travelling distance? Otherwise it’s the same problem if we sign someone from Paris or Portsmouth.
Gundawan is living "out of a suitcase " in a city center hotel didnt have a bad season for city last time did he ?

Don't Gillingham produce their own shirts?
so it can be done ? potential to sell unique small run kits to local ameture clubs aswell when workload is slack income stream for the club maybe something for the trust to look at suggest we have a year to put it in place

Not a patch on Sparta.
Love these kits tho. Best in years. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the sports direct deal end after this season, meaning we have an opportunity to move on next season and go for something completely different?
Might be another chance for AL to get the fans onside
how about we do our own surely there are enough seamstress cutters etc local to the boro that we could design source and make our own then ALL the profit goes to us we are a small league 2 club we dont need a vast distribution network all over the country just a descent club shop and a good mail order dept wonder if local work wear manufacturers would be interested

I thought the same. Sports direct really couldn't give a fuck & guarantee they have been produced in low numbers.
I really like both kits. Matching the 81/82 season.
that collar is very Roger Wylde strutting around 18yard box in his pomp
