  1. Enjoyable listen chaps as usual.

Even thought Unsworth came across well in Dave's interview in the main

I'd be interested to know your thoughts though about his comments on Southend, and him implying we were the better team early on and had 6 great chances I think v their 3 ( maybe I heard this wrong). We got mullered in the first 20 mins full stop.

They could have been 3 or 4 up, and bar Norwoods chance early on we created nothing from my memory and hardly had the ball!

If he can learn to cut out the shite from his interviews and just be honest....which he was apart from that comment, he will get more fans on side and we may actually get to like him!🙂

  2. Brilliant response today and the new signings seem to be doing their stuff, but let's not get too carried away.

Aldershot were 2nd favs for relegation behind Oxford City at the start of the.season and rightly so, so we should be dicking them at home.

Chesterfield next week and Borham Wood away the week after will be a better barometer of where we are.

You’d best tell me how those bollocks taste fella because it’s the gods honest truth.

He didn’t think our style of play would suit him and he doesn’t rate Unsworth (he’s a scouser as well) so instead he signed a new contract on what is crazy money for the level he’s playing at because he knows he’s ultimately going to a football league club so he’d rather continue to be the main man, have everything go through him and stay in focus until that happens.

Their manager grew up with Ant Gerrard and Lee Trundle and told me some good stories about them but I’m keeping them to myself - don’t want people thinking they’re bollocks now hey.

So he has just signed for another NL side....so much for knowing he's going to a football league club and staying at Mac because he's the main man😉

Well I went on Saturday, spent a fortune and came back well pissed off.  I don’t expect a refund. Seen loads of shit performances on my travels over the years and no doubt will see a good  few more, but I won’t be asking for my money back after any of them. I’ll moan and groan all the way home while sinking a few beers, then move on to the next one.

Its the price of supporting a shit football team I’m afraid.

Yep i don't disagree. Every home game cost me pretty much £200 with travel food drink etc and it's not been great the past 20 years or so has it!

My main point was we have not heard a whisper of an apology from anyone at the club. If I was offered a refund I'd not take it as most I would imagine, but it would have been nice to get a sincere apology for the performance and perceived lack of effort from the manager or captain or someone.

Hey ho we move on to mighty Aldershot on Saturday

Who will reimburse that cost? We're not premier league. It all looks well and good when they do it at that level cos that's one players weekly wage. Bit different

Shouldn't matter. Shit embarrassing performance of the highest order. Fans let down abysmally.

So yes the club should stump up.

We can pay all.Unsworths cast offs every week for doing not very much at the moment it seems.

Erm Zoom, MS Teams, and a host of other video services available to him or indeed a pre recorded message to the fans would suffice.

To be fair to Unsworth, you couldn't pay me enough money to be that close to someone known to recently have COVID-19 for a quick 5 minute interview for a football club's media content.

  7. Has anybody actually heard anything from Unsworth or the club about Saturdays embarrassing debacle?

I won't even consider Ebrells post mstch comments as they were as pathetic and piss poor as the performance...

I'd be offering to reimburse those who traveled with their ticket money at least, and would like to hear from Rhino himself what his thoughts were of his set up, our sharpness or lack of it, and having only 30 odd percent possession when we were apparently starting on the front foot.

But I'd wager a few quid on him sidestepping any difficult questions, talking in bollocks and riddles and not taking any of the responsibility himself.

For me he sees them as impact players rather than consistent starters. Ole Solksjaer at scum a good example, can't say fergie disliked him even though he was often left with 15 minutes to do something.

Unsworth - note to self..."I do actually need to include players in the matchday squad, and for them to come onto the pitch and play, for them to be an impact player...."😂

Went to the Ashton United v Burnley u21s friendly last  night and liked the look of Burnley's nippy attacking midfielder Marcel Lewis, who showed excellent vision and passing ability. I understand he could be available on loan.

Nice to meet Tony Philiskirk again.

However, Ashton had a quick, mobile 6ft 4" striker called Macus Cusani who scored 2 goals and even more impressive was his ball control and bringing others into play. 27 years old with an amateur background so probably won't be considered by us, but his work rate and superb fitness put our lot to shame.

Only seen him once but I've seen far worse in the EFL.

Not sure we need ANOTHER striker at this point!

Nippy attacking midfielder seems to fit the bill though👍

I actually feel even more disillusioned this morning having spent all of yesterday trecking to Southend for that shameful effort.

Sadly I don’t think Darren Royle will do what is needed and I think we are in for another painful and wasted season with Unsworth and Ebrell in charge

The next game I can realistically get to is Boreham Wood away…..am I going to spend another £100 that I can’t really afford to witness central defenders trying to play wing back and midfielders who can’t pass or tackle and a negative 3-5-2 formation?

For the first time in 5 decades supporting my beloved Latics I think I will give it a miss

    Thanks Rhino 😔

Come Boreham Wood you'll change your mind.....we always do, coz we are blue🙂

What surprises me most is that Frank being such a positive person is allowing such negativity to continue on the playing side.

It's said owners shouldn't interfere, but I feel he needs to stamp his own philosophy on the club and let the manager know the ultra defensive mentality has to change...and quickly.

Some will shoot me down as usual, but in this  case I dont care, I want far better than these ponderous tactics on the field.

Yes BP I'll shoot you down....owners shouldn't interfere. That's why they are not managers or coaches, bar Marc at Dorking.

The board have on more than one occasion been clear they will not interfere in team selection or tactics which is how it should be.

However their job is release investment to build a strong squad and to appoint a management team that can meet the aspirations of the investment.

Point one they have delivered on in abundance, however it's clear to all now that after over a year they have made the wrong choice unfortunately on the manager and his assistants positions.

    Loyalty only goes so far.

Big Joe needs to be more vocal to Frank and Darren. Surely with all his experience he can see DU is out of his depth, and change is needed now.

He needs to...in my humble opinion...get off that big arse of his and advise Frank to pull the plug on Unsworth now, and go and find a coach who can get us promoted.

We can clearly pay what would be needed, and with the rest of the club in such good shape there would be no shortage of takers.

Thought Ebbrells response on official website was pathetic.

No anger just calm acceptance of poor play and result. Where is the fire we need to sort this team out. Once again he thinks training will correct everything. It won't. Chesterfield had desire to win today and played up to the end and got their reward. How great it would be to see a latics

team with desire and belief oh and effort.

God help us if Unsworth gets long covid.

    He's a melt... end of
