  1. I may be wrong but I suspect LS was was displaying sarcasm. The list of players having poor debuts for us could be a long one.......
  2. The view under the lights down at the other end from the Rocky is so poor me and my son didn't realise we were down to ten men until we got home later
  3. Really? That would be a surprise since Lyndon is definitely a defensive midfielder and Rooney is apparently a attacking midfielder but we've yet to see anything to suggest he's good anywhere unfortunately.........
  4. Playing every minute of every game in the last two seasons for Tranmere is quite an achievement for a guy of his age. Wiki says 98 games!!
  5. Wrong. At no point did I say I agreed or disagreed with what Matt said in his post 11/6/2022 at 8.01AM. I felt Matt's clearly well written and thought out views didn't warrant a response from me in a thread about the FA Cup draw. Matt's clearly an intelligent person but I just thought it was time to lighten up a bit and get back to thread subject. It obviously rattled your cage which I regret simply because I'm here again replying to you.
  6. Nothing weird about it at all. I was bored with it by that time and he seemed to have a bee in his bonnet........
  7. My god!! You need to calm down and concentrate on football
  8. FFS Mikey it's got absolutely fuck all to do with what I think or believe!! It's to do with what Mullin thinks. He thinks he's virtuous by doing what he did and by doing what he did he wants other people to think that as well ie signalling it. Just read what I said in my previous posts explaining what the act of virtue signalling is defined as. Try Google, I didn't make the meaning up..... That's me finished on this subject.
  9. I know you said subjective and I agree he's done his virtue signalling. He isn't going to change anyone's mind about anything in politics by his antics but he thinks in his head he's shown what a good, righteous, morally correct person he is. No doubt he will get a nice warm glow from that - that's what virtue signallers thrive on. Anyway I'm bored with this now - how do you think we'll get on tomorrow Matt?
  10. I think that's partially correct but would change it to as below:- The act of bringing to public attention those who do not display a sufficient level of expected support to something that you think is the right moral viewpoint and that by publicly displaying this it shows to the public what a good, righteous person you think you are. The above describes what Mullin was doing by putting the slogan on his boots. I've used the word 'you' above to make a point but of course it doesn't actually mean you Matt. Ian MM PS just my opinion.
  11. Virtue signalling is generally accepted as making a declaration in a social or political context and as far as I'm aware wearing a poppy doesn't have any political connotations attached to it.
  12. Mullen was just virtue signalling...... Virtue Signalling - the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
  13. https://youtu.be/ZQXoaCYYHsE Their manager interview. He says he knew they'd have loads of possession due to the way Oldham set up.......
  14. And he's not surprised at the performance like the rest of us Openly critical of Vaughn so suspect we won't see much of him in the future. We really are in the mire with these players and unfortunately survival in this division is the aim now.
  15. As usual our opposition seem to play better passing football than us and are definitely on top in that first half. Boos heard from Latics fans at half time....
  16. "Alty in control of the football now" say the commentary team......
  17. Commentary seems quite reasonable….. Alty seem to have come into it more after what sounds like a decent start by Latics.
