  1. Four Halifax players got booked according to the BBC report here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66435767
  2. When they say Frank I take it as 'the club' because it will I assume be a joint decision albeit that the owners will have a major say. I suppose what I'm saying is it doesn't really matter......
  3. Enjoyed the podcast apart from Matt's foul mouthed rant/tirade which surprised and disappointed me. He's basically lowered himself to the same level (or lower) as those he was talking about on Twitter or at least those that I have seen regardless of the topic. The red mist descended I think and it won't have made it any better for him. Ignoring them would have perhaps been the best option.
  4. Watch this and tell me if you still think it's a foul on Hogan. https://twitter.com/ethaggy/status/1692910031212077428?s=20 I would say its not as clear cut as I thought it was.
  5. Norwood interview on TNT Sports https://www.tntsports.co.uk/football/vanarama-national-league/2023-2024/it-just-shows-what-spirit-we-ve-got-james-norwood-reacts-after-scoring-last-gasp-oldham-equaliser_vid1971640/video.shtml
  6. I agree with your post. Unsworth's interview on our webpage is perhaps rather too upbeat with OTT praise for the players but other than that fairly reasonable I dare to say..........
  7. Just a few random recollections from today in no particular order - We created 3 good chances in the first half but can't recall any in the second half in front us but equally I can't remember that many more from Chesterfield either despite them undoubtedly having most of the possession. We just seemed to stand off them deep in our half and then when they lost possession they pressed us very well in our own half so we made little progress up the field hence resorting to long balls. We're crap at passing to each other or at least making progress in the right direction whilst passing. Can't remember Hudson having to make many saves and those he did have to make were relatively simple ones. I thought Gardner was quite good when he came on looking for forward passes and the goal came as a result of him shooting which we did precious little of in the match Shelton was very poor and our right back Freeman didn't get forward much if at all and as a result most of our play was down the left where Kitching. Freeman and Dickinson again looked a bit leggy and as I said after the Halifax game neither of them look fully match fit. Their goal came after a foul on Hogan and for our goal Fondop could have been ruled offside/interfering with play/goal keepers view but wasn't so that equals out in my view. Sheron playing wide right after Kurt went off was a strange one. I don't think Frank was abused but people were telling him to sack Unsworth. Frank did look at little nonplussed by it but not troubled. Norwood will score us goals with better service. The fans running on the pitch was embarrassing to say the least. Absolute moronic dickheads. Terrible to watch but they didn't tonk us and we got a point which I would have settled for before the game.
  8. I'd rather let Darren Royle and the board be the judge of that but you're entitled to your opinions.
  9. Who's suggesting we should buy another player every time we lose a game of football? Don't be so stupid. I merely asked a question about a rumour IE what this thread is supposed to be about. The bottom line is our midfield needs improvement.
  10. Last night's booking was for stupidly kicking the ball away but granted he is physical and as a result will get booked quite often I suspect.
  11. I see he watched the game through slightly rose tinted glasses again. It would be nice if just occasionally he could give us a proper honest analysis of the game.......
  12. Observations from tonight's game and have probably been said previously above however - Once again Unsworth shows he isn't able to change a game with tactical changes or/and substitutions. I think he was out thought by the Halifax manager. The substitutions didn't affect the game much in particular Reid coming on and changing to 433 Our midfield has little or no creativity and needs to improve substantially if we want to finish anywhere near the playoffs Tollitt unfortunately isn't good enough for this level. He has the occasional good shot on him but his overall game isn't up to it. I don't think we will see much of him when Lundstram/Ward/Green are fit. Dickinson and in particular Freeman seemed a bit leggy tonight and are probably not yet up to full fitness. They should improve with game time. Norwood seemed very frustrated tonight and who can blame him. Halifax were nothing special whatsoever yet we didn't have the ability to overcome them. Very, very disappointing..........
  13. Hope I’m wrong and I was really positive prior to last week but I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better with these injuries and lack of recruitment in positions where we are clearly short. Aldershot win…….
  14. I suspect Chesterfield will be the Wrexham/Notts County of the National League this season. They seem to have recruited well.
  15. I’m giving him 9 more games but it’s not just one game as you say is it. It’s the continuation from last season that I think a lot of fans are looking at…..
  16. That's the trouble with social media. In the 'good old days' all we knew was what Bob Young told us in the Chronicle once a week and that was generally factual stuff that the club or a player had told them. Nowadays everyone expects and demands to know everything including the inside of a ducks arse and as a consequence some of it is fake news or not factually correct. Ignorance was bliss and what you didn't know about you didn't worry about..........
  17. I don't think they were ignoring him on purpose it's just that they haven't the ability to pick him out with a pass which he may have now realised. That would disappoint him I'd imagine.
