An absolutely frightening prospect
Totally different to Unsworth. Mellon is tried and tested , we’ve got to give him the pre season to see what he can do.

There can be no excuses. The season has been an abject failure.
those with any influence over on the
pitch matters at the club should be ashamed.
I’d like to hear from Darren Royle. He is answerable.
To be fair I’m not sure what else he could have done, he brought Mellon in with one of the best reputations, brought the players in both managers wanted . New pitch . Conditions stable within the club. It’s the players as a group for me.

Sorry for anyone who's bought a season ticket if we have to watch this bunch of wet wipes again next season
I really hope not.

We haven’t created anywhere near enough chances to moan about us not scoring
Yep, apart from a bit of passing around outside the box it’s been poor again. We’ve created nothing.

This commentator has no idea who Hope is. Has mistaken him for about 5 other players.
He mentioned fondop earlier

Absolute shambles for the goal this lot on the beach already they don’t care. Nothing has changed under Mellon He needs to get rid of the lot of these but then do we have faith he will get it right in the summer I’m beginning to doubt it
I do think he needs the summer to try and rebuild again on his own terms . This squad as a whole haven’t got a playoff campaign in them anyway. No edge to them or bottle.

I am not having these performances are down to the manager. It's these players, end of.
I agree, they need reminding who they are playing for and look up in the stand now and again to see what it means to the fans. Sick of this shit.

I genuinely think our players believe that playing the likes of Altrincham is below them. Kitching thinks he doesn’t have to show any urgency or strength. he optimises the attitude of this team as I see it
I don’t think thars the case, I actually think the opposite, we are getting overly nervous and fazed by these sides. Feel like underdogs in half the fixtures these days, even in this league. Quite an achievement really.
-
I think that’s us done now. Tactics were always to stop them scoring and sneak one. Not worked. Plan B? Doubt it.

We look powderpuff again.

The pressure to get a result at Altrincham will be immense. We don’t do pressure and I think we will probably already be beaten before we kick off!
I can’t see any way that we can win on Monday!
I dread to think what sort of reaction they’ll get from fans if we start badly….
Not the best preparation for selling Season tickets!
I think we could win as we often bounce back from an embarrassing display with a decent one just to keep the wolves from the door before reverting to type again. Overall though I don’t think this lot have the “minerals” to battle into the playoffs and then win them aswell.

Crazy to think we let that man walk away
Wonder how he'd of used the budget Frank put up?
Hard to say but I think the mentality would have been more positive throughout the squad

He’s worked hard to get Barrow punching way above their weight and challenging for automatic promotion on a budget well down in the bottom half. He’ll probably be a target for clubs much higher up in the summer, especially if he manages promotion.
Why would he come here and have to start all over again?
Anyone other than the Lemsagam’s would have kept him on, he was the perfect fit for us and a Latics fan too!!
I reckon that we’d have to get out of this league first for him to ever consider a return and that looks a long way off unfortunately!
He’s Oldham through & through and would have been the perfect fit alongside the Rothwell’s but I think that ship has well & truly sailed.
You’re probably right, and I said it based on nothing at all. I just think he’d get more out of this lot than both DU and MM.
Tomorrow I think we will play well and put in a decent display. Maybe get a point but then the next home game will probably be another painful experience.

I still think Pete wild will end up back here… based on absolutely nothing .

Someone young, enthusiastic and innovative
if we’d gone for youth and innovation and it had backfired then we’d be saying should have gone for the tried and tested Mellon. Damned if you do etc . I do think there is a real mentality issue which had dogged us for a while now. Their resilience when under pressure or conceding is atrocious, the slightest disgruntled reaction from the fans and the heads drop. The ability is surely there, it’s the collective mentality

. Brilliant. I told you so .
all these refs in this league are sub par and spoil the match week with b ween out.
Easy for you to say

It’s a mystery how things just don’t seem to be clicking together. Whether it’s the players not warming to Mellon ( although I’m pretty old fashioned in that sense, do as you are told ) or Mellon has just lost his touch. I’d definitely give the summer because who on earth would we get?

I honestly think we'd be in a better position if we'd have stuck with Shez..
It’d be nice to get a full squad who really want to play for us and win, realise the tradition this club has and be told what it means to the fans and react accordingly. I think alot of the issue is the state of mind of the players/team, it can’t be right, don’t know how you’d alter that but there’s no urgency with them or desire.
