On 17th October Mike Williamson moved from Gateshead to MKD who were 17th in L2 I think and struggling..
They are now 4 points off Wrexham at the top and stand an excellent chance of automatic promotion to L1.
Maybe we backed the wrong horse.....
I don’t think there is a horse for us

What I don't get is that we were playing well and looked a decent side at Maidenhead on 17th Feb....since then we have won once which was shite at Ebsfleet and have been dreadful bar Chesterfield..
I agree with what some have said that something can't be right internally between the players and Mellon.
I’d stand with MM at the moment, this squad has form for being mentally weak. He’s won several promotions, we’ve got to try and give him the summer to sort this out properly. He’s brought a few in granted but I’m in favour of huge clear out of possible . I’m sick of the sight of some of these now.

So this is the start of our assault on the playoff spots and we are 3 nil down in the first half against FYLDE!! Not fucking good enough .

Yep, or it’ll be the ref, or the linesman , or having too many games.

The attitude should be that the whole 'Cup final mentality' of the opposition should be a compliment to Latics and the club, not a fucking handicap.
Absolutely take it as a compliment but respond to it in kind .

Another small team turning up like it's their cup final.
I don't have high hopes for today.Once we work out a way of subduing that cup final mentality in the opposition we will be onto something

Tis the season for resurrections.
Although the great man himself might have thought this one was a step too far...
Be in the book of revelations if we go up this season

I mean completely different set of circumstances under Wellens, but yes - we don't appear to have any desire to get into the play-offs.
If we somehow manage to get up under this lot, the footballing Gods really have forgiven us...
I seriously doubt it, still can’t find a way to get past these teams, bit of enthusiasm would help though

We was their cup final, the tossers.
Predicting Halifax 3-4 Chesterfield.Looks they’re everyone’s cup final at the moment .

He’s a bit of a diva I imagine, a lot of forwards are. But yesterday when we conceded he was rallying people although I obvs couldn’t hear what he was saying. He’s probably frustrated like us with the constant bottling nature of some of the players when under pressure. He puts the goals away though and that’s what he’s here for.

The way some Oldham fans are going on after a 2-2 draw, you'd think it was...
They’ve obviously had far too much to drink

Chesterfield fans saying that was our cup final apparently. Talk about delusions of grandeur. Chesterfield … fair play to their points tally, no denying that but our cup final ?? Please…

Great all round performance today. Every single player contributed positively.
The tough thing is playing teams who don't give the space that Chesterfield did.
If we press like we did today and try not to panic on the ball then we will easily pick up enough to be in the playoffs.
We've got enough players who are comfortable on the ball to not resort to lumping it.
This is the thing, we always seem to play better against team such as these. I saw some decent football today and it’d be great to see more of that. Perhaps there’s a bit too much of us concentrating on the tactics of the opposition. The most important thing is the pressing and closing down in the middle of the field , that’s where games are won or lost.

Play like that and they can beat anyone. Unfortunately, we all know a different team could show up next week
Should’ve won, but I’ll take that

it would be great if we could go out play free flowing football and give Chesterfield the run around, that's not going to happen though! (Even though Dorking managed to do it!)
I expect to see much of the same style that we have been using at home, for better or worse- in this case big Mike has to start surely? To be honest a couple of weeks ago I had a good feeling about this game, not so much now.
In saying that I can see a smash and grab type scenario, being dominated for 90 minutes, being under a lot of pressure and hopefully nicking a goal from somewhere. The players should be motivated at the very least for this one.
Praying for a positive result, being an early kick off, there is a lot of the day left to be pissed off!
Last time I saw free flowing (ish) football was under Thompson and Redfern. I think it’ll defo be a smash and grab job if we get anything from this .

But I’m not sure what more they could have done, Mellon was probably the best appointment on the face of it, Conlon and Dallas coming in too, garner has bagged a few already, it’s utterly baffling .
