jimsleftfoot
this is what will happen i think Disagree completely. We relied heavily on Porter who we lost for a long period and when he did come back was half the man he was. Apart from him we had no other matchwinners. The main issue we have this season is our away form and our ability to concede goals in the first half. Shez tries to play exactly the same kind of football home and away and it doesn’t work against quite a few teams. At home we are quite good and have got matchwinners that we didn’t have in 2006. Like for like we are a stronger team now but we are in a stronger division. If shez can stop those early goals going in away from home, we might get the auto spot. On the otherhand we have teams snapping at our heels who could easily take over our position in the playoffs.
LaticsPete
Different situation to then. Right now the team has to believe it can get 2nd spot . Three points off it and games in hand have to be won by other clubs. We are regarded very highly by other teams and seen as much more of a real threat than in 2007 and that's because we do have a better overall team. I think one of the difficult issues is that we have too many strikers! Consequently there's a 4-4-2 approach to every match, but away we may have to go to 4-5-1. Three central midfield with just Hughes or Davies upfront. Edited January 28, 2009 by LaticsPete

Corporal_Jones
Learn nothing from the Hereford game? Games like Hereford and the several dismal home draws against teams that were there for the taking, as well as, for that matter, losing so abjectly last night after a good display on Saturday, is why the wider town, and a sizeable number of former hardcore fans, will not take the club seriously at present. Bring Back Ronnie Moore
Because we lost to one of the best teams in the division on their own turf? Give over. Come back if we fail to win on Saturday and Tuesday and I'll agree.
