Great performance, but has anybody worked out the puzzling free kick he gave away in the corner in the second half?

Was it for:

- elbowing

- kicking out

- gesticulating to the linesman (sorry - assistant referee)

- ruining the linesman 1-0 home win bet

- shielding the ball in a way that runs down the clock in an offensive manner

I think that the 4th one is the most probably as that linesman made some very odd decisions all game and all against latics.

I was watching it in the pub with my 13 year old daughter. I made a comment direct at the ref, about there being 2 teams.

My daughter then said "yeah, the ref's an arse".

I thought she was spot on, but out of order for using such language. I asked her to repeat what she said:- "2 teams, the ref's and ours". Oops !

Interestingly my brother said that last week he saw the same thing happening when watching Exeter Vs Barnet the other week, as in the striker did nothing wrong but made it obvious that he was running down the clock, and the ref blew up immediately. So it's probably a new initiative that they've brought in...not that it affects Prem teams yet because they are MASSIVE! (i.e. Man City yesterday).
