scotty doesn't know
I watched wolfy (and taylor) play as kids being a couple of years older...wolfy always looked like a very decent finisher..... I disagree with the statement "you're only as good as your strikers". I played as a striker, and I was quite a good finisher and decent enough on the ball. I played for 2 teams with the same strike partner, one decent and one rubbish team. Where did we score more goals? The decent team where chances were created. If you look at the chances we created on Saturday, there wasn't agreat deal. Allesandra's only real chance was when he scored but had it disallowed and he took that VERY well. There is a distinct lack of quality balls down the channels, over the top and crosses. It's hard to score when this happens. I think both lewis and wolfy (with the right guidance) could score plenty. They may need to work on where to run and their positional game a touch, but thats a hell of a lot EASIER to learn than finishing. You could say movement from the whole team is poor right now anyway! this is why i said i agree with what joe royle said up to a point cause our problem this season has been danny whitaker and mark allott

Gemma06
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Wolfy with an extended run and the right partner will score goals at this level. Will he get that chance - i'm not so sure, but lets face it anything is better than the half-arsed nay always on his arse Alessandra. A big lump with Wolfy will work imo, unfortunately the few chances he has had has seen him paired with players of the standard of Warne or Lewi if he'd had the chance to play week in week out with Porter, Beckett, Hughes et al i'm sure he would have bagged a lot more than Lewi has. I'm still of the opinion (probably in the minority) but Wolfy is the most natural finisher at the club. Cue abuse... I completely agree, i've always rated Wolfy, the only problem with him is his injury record. There is no doubting his ability - and he will only get better if he gets a run in the team. I know Joe Royle rates him and if Royle stays then i expect Wolfy will do as well. His movement in and around the box is fantastic. If we had managed to keep hold of Porter then the two of them together would have been a quality front pairing. I've also been told that his attitude in training is excellent as well

Agree with that Prozac, when I've seen him play for Youth/Reserves he always looks sharp and is always willing to have a go. I'm sure on his debut he came on as a sub and ended up on his own up front. After chasing down a long ball ended up taking a first time shot from an wide angle outside the box which beat the keeper all ends up, yeah it did go just wide but the fact that on his own with no support he took it on shows the natural goalscorer that lurks within. Also the goal he scored at Accy, natural instinct? If we can keep him fit and he gets a run I think you're right he will score goals at this level. Wolfy makes it 3-
