The biggest change we will need is the fans want for Brazilian style football...

The biggest change we need is for people to look at what the club can become and not what it has been....

We are a 3rd Divison team, with lower than average league 3 attendances, with Fans who want to support a Premier greed team once again.

Even though I have been frustrated these past 3 season with the football, I would take that over the owners putting all their eggs in one basket and melting the club down by going all or bust !

Our players are the standard they are because if they were any better they would be playing at a higher standard ! We need a manager to install cohesion, passion and ethics... ability alone doesnt win games or guarantee promotion.

Gray ! My final say on this bloke... He has been at the club 12 months, knows how the fans can be, he knows the politics of he club, he knows the players he has, he knows the players he can afford ...... AND he still wants the job ??????????

That to me says he as confidance in his abilities, not only that he has confidance in the lads we have, coached his OWN way and played how he wants to play them he believes they can improve and do well.

After all a jobs a jobs but getting fired from a job doesnt look good on anyones CV and he knows if he doesnt step up to the task... He to will be fired !!

I actually agree 150%, and Gray is, in my opinion, the man for the job.

But I can't see TTA appointing him. They sacked Penney and regardless of what they say, the fans paid a big part in that. TTA will appoint someone to appease the fans, I can't see them going for Penney's assistant.

My gut feeling, and the whispers I'm getting from people "in the know", is that Francis Bunn will be our manager this time next week.

Au contraire.

So he did apply? Did he make the final short-list? Is he still in the running for the job?

With Gannon's odds rising I assumed that what people have posted about him going Stockport rather than here is true and that he was out of the running for it.

There's been a lot of conflicting rumours with Gannon especially.

Gray would excite me as much as Penneys appointment did... Assistants taking over from failed managers does not have a good record either...

I would be looking towards a Ronnie Moore / Warnock style character and hope the fans grow up a bit... Gannon would be my ideal choice...

Frankie Bunn is a legend at BP ... he is the Steve Davies of Football.... if hired he wont last the season .... The fans will turn quicker on a club favourite becuase their expectations will not be met.

Lower the expectation of the fans repeat the reward if it works. Higher the expectation..... doesnt stand a chance !

yep Dowie wasnt very good when he was given the chance !!

Gannon would turn the club inside out, upset all the staff, fans, players and owners within his first 3 months in charge.... thats his way !

Exception that proves the rule ? To be frank, given the budget, it was a pretty big fail...

Imagine that... Someone telling everyone what they need to hear... I can understand why that :censored:s the life out of everyone at BP including the trust

He gets my backing for that very reason...

Gannon is very pro Trust.. he in fact has done all the accounts for County and worked with the Trust night and day !!!! What Gannon doesnt like is being told what to do by his MD or CEO and we have two people in this job who wouldnt like that.

He also as a knack of upsetting players and losing advertising money for his clubs !!!! We cant afford any Mavricks at Latics !! Can we ?

Why would he tell people what they need to hear ??? he would be the manager not owner or CEO ... Ohh sorry I get your drift now ... thats because he does think he runs the clubs he's been at !!

I stand by my choice... Gannon for manager... Shoot a rocket up everyone's arse...

I think he would bring success and to be quite frank, the MD and CEO should keep there nose out of football matters... Imagine just letting the manager get on with it, its a novel idea but it might just work.....

As for mavricks at the club... Don't get me started... :)

I take it when you edit posts it doesn't show the fact you have edited them...

I won't reply to this as I don't want to upset people :)

does anybody actually know 100% who applied for the job...and who is actually on the short list for interview????

or are we all just going off bookies charts

if people really want to know who is being interviewed then they need to sit outside the club watching who goes in etc etc...

i know who i would want to be appointed..but i think there going to go for the cheap option yet again....and that really after the last season is or would be a very big smack in the mouth for 90% of the fans.

No .... Football managers should stick to football and not decide how the clubs finances are run and what profits should be made on players !!!

Football Manager should be on the training pitch with the players not in the pubs with fans.

Risdale and Bates are Mavricks !!! You wants a Mavrick at Latics ??s

It's like my Chairman at Newport on FM. He lets me get on with managing the team and we are reaping the rewards.

I think the manager should be involved at all levels of the club personally... I won't complain to see the manager taking time to socialise with the fans... I don't see a problem with the manager getting involved with some of the decisions at the top...

Lets face it, I don't think all of the calls made at the top of football clubs have been right from the football prospective... Even fewer seem to be right from business prospective either given the woeful state of football finances at the moment...

As for mavericks running the club like Risdale and Bates I will ignore because its just a silly thing to start suggesting...

so who is the peoples choice ? because no matter who is named they are not right for the club ! jesus we cant have he is otherwise involved in managing the world ,same goes for mourinho he's going to madrid ,so we are left with the dregs of the football world.so lets be serious no matter who we end up with 50% of the fans are not going to be happy .at the end of the day we as fans no matter what people think do not have the last say .

i think we do have the last say...or some do,otherwise we wouldnt have got through so many managers in the last 6 years....fan powers done for most of them...

maybe the club should take into consideration what fans think...at the end of the day tickets sales rose once penney had gone...if they want another increase they need to appoint the right man...otherwise people will feel hard done to and dare i say it...emotionally blackmailed into buying yet again
