Family Railcard

Recommended Posts

Noticed this one in the rag at work:

Family Railcard free for 2 months ... then they send you a code / voucher to buy one for half price (£14) for a year.

Might save a few quid on the away travel for those taking kids with them.

Just a reminder, if you wanted to take advantage of the offer you need to act today.

You should have had an email reminding you of your code.

If you're not going to use your code, perhaps you should post it on here so that other Latics can save themselves £14 on a railcard and lots on their travel this season!

It's also worth carrying a Bite Card if you're likely to spend money at station concessions (e.g. Burger King, Upper Crust, Delice de France etc). It gives you 20% off.

Totally free to aply for one and I was rather pleased to get 20% off beers in the bar at Euston a few months back.

Delice de France - the funniest advertising slogan I've seen:

Cappuccino - It just tastes better in French.

I'd likle to think it's deliberately witty but I'm not convinced

There's a new offer for that knocks a tenner off the price of a Friends and Family Railcard, reducing the price to £20. If you're travelling with an under 16 it knocks 30% off most adult fares and 60% off the child fare too. Excellent for away travel.

Offer ends on 1st November.

I think it's a bit of an homage to the Aunt Bessie's ad.
