singe
I know the bloke who's company tenders for the signs, and created it for OMBC. He asked when they wanted to fit it, OMBC said we going to do it in house. He is milking this for a lot!!!!
Ackey
This to me just screams of someone pissed off with their job mucking about... not sure it's really an indictments of council ineptitude (although I don't doubt there's plenty of that to go around). beag_teeets
It has been quite interesting seeing this develop, Andrew linked a few of his friends to it and I tweeted it. Before long the hit count on the server was at 500 and he was contacted by the MEN & BBC, both wanted him to go and have the classic picture taken of him standing under or near to the sign and pointing at it. The same questions were asked, name, age, location and then a generic quote summing up how he felt about it. It was on Radio Humberside's breakfast show http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/p00kv1lz from 2:54:55 onwards. Perfect media story, which lets them highlight council incompetence and gives the reader/listener a feeling of smugness that they aren't as stupid as the person that has done the thing wrong. Churnalism at it's finest.
