stargazer
Nope , haven't missed any of them..... thankfully. Here is my tale of woe. We too thought West Ham would beat Notts County so stayed in the Rifle Range till gone kick off. Must have been about 10 or 15 minutes in before we got in the Chaddy. Instead of our usual spot half way , because it was heaving we stayed at the bottom , level with the middle of the goals. What a rubbish place to be as Neil Redfearn took his penalty I was listening for the 4th billion time to the commentary on his goal from Radio Manchester & Piccadilly today....still gives me the shivers. Frankly Mr Shankly
Yeah one of 'em is when Shankly gets 'Taters-deep' we win…..over to you Jamie, we could do with a win at Bournemouth……. Given I'm working on Saturday, the only person I can get it on with is my boss. If we was needing a win to stay in the football league I wouldn't be going all 'crafty butcher' in order for us to do it. 'Second away game on my own (well with my mate), first was Anfield a few weeks before when I went and stood on the Kop due to the ridiculous £13 they wanted in the away end. Got in The Kop for a fiver. For the Villa game again they wanted summat stupid like £14 to sit in the away end so paid a fiver again and stood on the Holte End, what an experience, never been so terrified, nervous and delighted all at the same time'. Yeah, me too. Except I was in the little :censored:ty stand at the side. Just before half time I feigned stomach ache, in order to be escorted into the St Johns Ambulance area which was underneath the away stand. Once there I performed a miraculous recovery saying I felt much better. The steward that escorted me smelt a rat and then said I had two options. I either go to hospital in Birmingham in case it was a ruptured appendix or I stayed outside the ground so that AVFC wouldn't be held responsible if I keeled over on their property. I decided to spend the second half outside the ground, and then just avoided a massive stramash as it kicked off royally with angry Villa fans and Oldham's finest knuckledraggers. Jibbed a lift back too on Barlows to save me :censored:ing about at Birmingham for a train home too.

BP1960
Does anyone remember the days before floodlights when Latics played matches on a Tuesday afternoon (early closing day)?...I must have missed some victories then as I was working at the time, but can't recollect any.
