De_La_Vega
Not seen enough of this superstar Winchester myself. While he seems to have some qualities I can't say that I have seen a game where he's done something special. Good potential, long way to go though. GlossopLatic
I know little about Winchester but a stalling of progress after showing promise has been a recurring theme of the youth output for many years. No idea why but many examples of players who seemed destined for bigger things have ended up at lower levels while most of those who have been transferred to significantly bigger clubs have pretty much disappeared without trace. The problem seems to be that every young player that gets a break into the first team and shows a bit of a potential gets seen as somekind of wonderkid who we are going to sell for £10million which is going to save Oldham Athletic and build us the new 80,000 seater Boundary Park Superthunderdome. Winchester like Mellor and Tarkowski shows some poetential but I think we need to be careful about putting them on a pedestal especially if anyone starts banding about fees. Taylor and Eardley were 2 of our best players of the past 5/6 years yet the minute people put a fee on their head it puts them on pedestal thats completely unrealistic, one bad game and its sell him and get the money. We should be more bothered about them developing into good first team players if a bigger club comes and pays a big fee for them then quite frankly its a bonus. Winchester shows potential lets just see where he goes he could just as easily go down the Tierney route as the Tipton route feet on the ground people.
