Ackey
I think it should be after paying 27k for it. City take up and put down their Training pitch in Moss Side every year and spend more than that...!
philliggi
£27 grand is nothing in pitch terms. when it was initially laid over ten years ago it cost a cool half a million

Diego_Sideburns
I've always felt that the ball bounced too high on the old pitch, probably because of the base underneath the grass, and therefore it was difficult to control. Last night it was apparent that the bounciness problem had been removed, and Latics controlled the ball much better than normal and knocked it about more comfortably. Also with the ball being on the grass more than slightly above it, Latics won more tackles and gained possesssion from them more often than I recall for a long time. If I'm correct, we can look forward to a better home record than in recent seasons, which in turn should bring in more supporters, and the pitch should pay for itself.
