jsslatic
the days of us giving teams a good tonking don't happen anymore. Correct. When did we last win a game by four goals? Was it Hartlepool at home a long time ago?
rudemedic
If their club ceases to exist, they will go to Bolton. Local and decent standard. Also cheaper than us! I know a lot of Bury and Bolton fans, all of this same opinion. Equally, not one of them "hate Bolton" and the majority support both teams in that area. So you're talking tosh I'm afraid! I don't believe I am and rival surveys have shown this. It's a bit of a moot point anyway as I doubt Bury will go bust.
al_bro
Like it or not, the income of "small" clubs today is significantly higher in real terms than it was in the 1970s and 1980s. There are too many lower league footballers on very, very good money. Yes, the gap to the Premiership has increased exponentially, but that is by no means the primary issue creating problems for the likes of Bury. In the 70s/80s clubs could sell players for decent money and not lose them for nothing at the end of their contract. There was no Bosman or transfer windows. Football was much better for lower league clubs.
