ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) what are peoples thoughts on me using the drum at matches? some people would rather me bring it and others hate it just wanted to see what the majority thought. Edited March 6, 2014 by ben tuohy
OAFC_Ryan Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 The club should really try and organise a 'singing section' (one block in the RRE) the drum helps people get up for songs and keeps them going when it would normally fade out.
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 stopped doing it recently because whenever i start a song people give up halfway through
DTM Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 More song and tempo variation, don't do each song for too long and no great escape UNLESS we've come back from being behind = win. I enjoy the atmosphere it creates even if I don't join in.
OAFC_Ryan Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Tweet LJ about it, he seems passionate on the subject. Try and keep politics out of it though as that's one of the reasons it failed last year.
pukka Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Honestly - I dont like it. I like your effort, but not for me.
HarryBosch Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Only if you don't drum when we win a corner and drown out "come on Oldham".
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 i dont, i wait to see if people are going to sing that then if not then i drum
Stacey Oafc Shaw Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Bring the drum, but u need to know when to use it properly
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 it sounds overused because people are turning around to me every two minutes saying "tuohy get a song going" and if they started it vocally then it would sound fine
opinions4u Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Did you contact the club when the Courteeners drummer was offering lessons? (Bring the drum, use it sparingly but do use it)
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 people saying use it at the right times read my previous comment if people didnt turn round to me every two minutes then the drum would be used fine, anyone remember everton? mixture of me starting songs and other people starting songs drum was used in the right places
Stainrod Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Sorry but I hate drumming it, it spoils watching the England matches for me with that band too. Watching football and musical instruments don't go. Not for me.
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 no worries everyone has there own opinion which is why i created this
SavageTheBeast Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Bring the drum play it proper though. None of that stupid woah woah woah song though.
oafc-latics Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 definitely take it on Saturday if Preston are bringing 2000+, help the songs get heard from the Chaddy.
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Bring the drum play it proper though. None of that stupid woah woah woah song though. i hate that song too!!! sometimes i just do it to keep my hands warm!
HarryBosch Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 i hate that song too!!! sometimes i just do it to keep my hands warm! Are you in the youth team aswell? Or is it a family member?
HarryBosch Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) my brother that plays for the youth Ah, how's it going for him? is he anywhere near the first team? Edited March 6, 2014 by HarryBosch
brierleys555 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 bring it back and give it a go. perhaps not bringing it to every game is better.
Stevie_J Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I don't object to it. I think it works at big games. I don't think it does when there are less than 3,000 people in BP.
ben tuohy Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Ah, how's it give for him? is he anywhere near the first team? hes only a first year but played for the reserves a few times
OAFC_Ryan Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Majority are in favour of it, are you bringing the drum on Saturday?
