Latics and England
Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I was in the ground to see us warming up pre-match. I was stunned to see our shooting practice. We must have been scoring one in ten, if that. I know it's only the warm up but what's the point in doing it if we are just going to shoot waywardly? Shooting when unchallenged should be the most natural thing in the world for professional footballers. None of them seemed in the slightest bit bothered about smashing them into the back of the stand again and again.
yarddog73
They are nonchalant during the warm up, as you've pointed out they don't actually seem to care when going through their pre match drills but whether this actually affects how they play - who knows. ChaddySmoker
The clue is in the header. It's purely to warm up the muscles.

Hands on
True it is a warm up but in all things if you practice badly you perform badly!
Midsblue
Granted a warm up is a warm up but strikers are strikers and they love scoring goals no matter what the stage. Over the years I witnessed the likes of Beckett, Hughes, Wijnhard...even Vernon, Dudley, Tipton and others who had a decent scoring rate when shooting during warm ups. Is it just that our current crop are just :censored:?
