Andy-latic
The makings of a fantastic midfield partnership. Absolutely love that every time Fane wins the ball, Byrne works hard to get within 5 metres of him for a simple pass, then he does the rest. They compliment each other so well and players weren't doing this for Fane last season. Long may it continue. Credit to Wellens also. GlossopLatic
Dont forget the role Gardner is playing here. The way we played yesterday was Gardner and Fane were the base. They played in the centre and Byrne played right midfield but was given the licence to roam. So he was popping up everywhere and as a result they couldnt pin him down or mark him out ofcthe game. Gardner playing next to Fane just gave our defence that bit more protection and allows Byrne the licence to do what he does get forward and play off the cuff. Gardner can also pass pretty well so he can be a deep lying playmaker and can shoot so will probably see him chip in with the odd goal. With those 3 on current form and with Mclaughlin, Queensy and Genavro (alright he didnt have a great game yesterday but their is a player in there) to offer us width we have a terrific balance and options in midfield. Another master stroke by shez, Gardner plucked from a relegated team. We should bring shez in as director of football
