    David "chicken" Currie is a good shout. Very gifted but couldn't see a team-mate...….would dribble the ball everywhere that was ineffective so much so, I'm certain he forgot which end he was attacking.

    I really want to agree with you but it's a gamble. We all want the Baxter who excited us in his first stint but that was sadly absent on his return. But are you getting a fighting fit Baxter when you sign him now and one capable of playing 60% (discussion point only) of the season and 90 mins. on a regular basis. As for the best player, I struggle to see past Lang.

    Not going to contest that but I'm going to throw this comment in. If I said I have evidence that was irrefutable in the opposite direction, would you just accept my word? Can't wait for responses to the highlighted bit!!!

    You're not big on debate, are you? So you make a comment on a public forum and then decide who can respond......presumably only those who agree with you. I'll take your one grump and raise you two miserable. For the record, I really wanted him to do well and we only saw fleeting moments of his talent last season but not enough to justify another contract.

    He didn't last time but he still struggled for and with injuries for over half of last season. Can we afford or risk another season like that?

    Your point make more sense now except for the question...….what was the point of keeping/punishing a player who was a borderline starter when we could have "sold" him and picked an adequate back up on a short term deal?

    But on the season long snapshot was he worth a new contract on the same conditions.

    Understandable when you consider Everton where prepared to help him out through his troubles and then give him a contract to start playing again. He gave an interview in one of the broadsheets thanking Bill Kenwright and stating he was now clean. Taking all that into account and his exciting play for us first time around, he was definitely worth the gamble. Just a shame it didn't work out.
