Monty Burns
When Shez was in charge we averaged over 1000 away fans in at least one of his seasons.

LaticsChris
The percentage of home fans travelling away statistics are very interesting. Ours seem to fluctuate remarkably: 13%, 6.1%, 13.5%, 13.5% and then 8.7% since 2008. There's no real pattern there. So a 36% drop last season, paired with a 5% increase in home gates. Good to see that increase in home gates though.
iamjonesyyoafc
"Rotherham United had the biggest growth in season ticket holders (+141%), followed by Oldham Athletic (+46%) and Morecambe (+35%)" Average attendence up 248 from 4007 to 4255, a 5% increase. 46th best in the football league, 13th best in league one. Average number of travelling fans down 28% on last year at 410 compared to 570 last year. 49th best in the football league, 13th best in league one. Away fans as a percentage of home fans at 8.7%, down 36% from last years 13.5%. 46th best in football league, 16th best in league one. Highest number of travelling fans at 2,073, up 6% from 1,950 last year which is the 33rd best in the football league and the 8th best in league one. Average number of visiting fans at 531, down 33% from last years 793. Still the 38th best in the football league and the 13th best in league one. Highest attendance up 9% from 6,866 last year to 7,476 this year (obviously not including FA Cup exploits). 47th best in the football league, 14th best in league one. Almost certainly not. I think those statistics are purely league games, with the possible inclusion of the league cup.

blueatheart
The geographical make-up of the division changes massively though. A few years ago the division was crap with lots of long distance games. Don't know if that fits with the stats though, obviously form will be a part of it too.

The make-up of the division will have a massive bearing on attendances away - as well as how kind the weather / fixture list are to us. Yes, doesn't help having Wolves on a Tuesday and Orient on a Saturday etc
Boys in Blue
Read something in When Saturday Comes about how amongst the many problems that Bury had, one big problem was a home game vs Sheffield Utd being moved. They'd factored 2000 Travelling but got 500 for the rearranged fixture. Makes you think how tight budgets can be stretched by bad luck fixtures wise. Think about the difference having Wolves at home 1st Saturday of the season followed by Sheffield Utd in next home game & PNE a week or two after that. A tough start but worth a lot more in gate receipts.
