Not on here to defend or not practices at your club but the bird muck issue is an issue many, many groiunds face all the time. Stadiums are open spaces and unless you can 'net' almost every nook and cranny (and its eye watering costs to do so) then our feathered 'rats' get everywhere! seats can be clean one minute then moments before the turnstiles open can find multiple seats covered in sh*t ... its a nightmare! never been able to find an total solution, wealthy clubs no doubt have an army of cleaners on their pre-match, during match and post-match cleans but many clubs will be on a wing and a prayer ... pardon the pun!

These seats haven't been cleaned in about 10 years

And as someone who also works in Health and Safety in construction we don't usually say "oh that's a nightmare to do so we won't bother"

I'm sure you'll agree the HSE wouldn't accept that reasoning either.  Not that they deal with stadiums

You are worried about pigeon muck ? You’ve obviously never been to Chesterfield

No I haven't but having seen someone nearly lose a leg after he got a cut infected from exactly that on a building site I do consider it a concern.

Any health and safety professional would ensure it got cleaned

Thats not correct mate ... its not a traditional H&S Role ... its a Safety Officers role and thats a different role entirely and the requirement is a Level 4 Diploma Spectator Safety Management not NEBOSH as you correctly say is minimum for normal H&S jobs.

Been in H&S for 25 years and work for a club in an H&S role. The advert for the OAFC job is correct.

Well you learn something every day!

Maybe that's why he allows fire exits to be blocked by stewards and pigeon excrement to be left all over seats

If we are talking about Shadow Boards here, the proposal is that they would be made up entirely of fans, the club would have no role in heir selection and would be obliged to meet them on a regular basis (probably 3-4 times a year).

As I understand it, the SB would have a right to see information relating to business planning, financial management and corporate issues, albeit they would probably have to agree to non-disclosure of key commercial information. What they WOULDN'T be doing is using this forum to  hold the club to account for the price of pies, manager tactics etc.

Not a shadow board, I'm talking of our full main board that the coveted 3% gives us access to.

It has been largely useless either because the incumbents have been more interested in having a club tie or because they have been ostracised.

It says a lot that I know for fact that our former chairman was asked about the trust when he was effectively stealing funds for a scoreboard and his response was

    "Fuck the trust"

The patsy seat gets you upto date intel at board level. Like financials...is everyone getting paid and on time?..stuff maybe a new owner may want in advance? ...not so much the tiny detail but to have a supporters rep to say independently yes/no stuff is being paid.

Appreciate the detailed response but apologies the above just isn't correct

Simon Brooke would turn up for meetings 30 minutes after they had started to be told "finance had already been discussed" before being sent to Coventry completely.

The club have always told that seat what they wanted to tell and only allowed you close if you were in bed with paper and slippers with them.

She was this time last year as was Jason Flynn.

Wow. Just hit me that this time last year we got the Club to sign off on the MOU and launched the 21 step strategy into fan ownership of club, stadium or both.

From memory, Yes both Philippa/Jason were looking at Escrow? accounts at the time. As we were about to launch the lottery. This was with a view to open another account.

We then went into a full AGM prep and they left.

It was then going to be looked at when PTB cast their eyes over it and thumbs up they wanted to get involved.

But we then had to plough on with launching the pledges ASAP with club stuff making it more urgent.

I have left since. I presumed it was all sorted with the rally call for cash by end if season, but maybe I listed the announcement about it and the legal signatures on the account too.

Let's not look back all teary eyed here

"The club signed upto the MOU and launched a 21 step strategy"

What exactly did either achieve? I appreciate the efforts you in particularly made but the trust failed spectacularly- you mention elsewhere about the ground and being fearful of our survival? Well why wasn't that exact issue being raised when we had a presence in the board room??

Because Owen and Radcliffe were more interested in themselves and weren't challenged by the wider trust. Speaking of which how's that Hughes fellow getting on in his new prawn sandwich club?

I have no idea if the new trust can do anything of note but with the greatest respect they can't be any worse and at least are willing to tackle the club and leave the patsy seat on the board vacant

Played golf today with a bloke who was Jon Hallworth's best man and vice versa. Had some good stories, mostly involving the utter depravity of Rick Holden

Rick Holden is a lesser talented Brian Clough or George Best it seems

Saw a photo of him from an event only a few months ago and as someone who had his own issues with alcohol he looked a mess

His Facebook rants on not being offered interviews for jobs at Latics would suggest he isn't aware

Whelan was good against Bristol, but for him that was an exceptional performance. You can count on the fingers of one hand the number of games where he has imposed himself. He’s very very weak in the tackle.

I agree he's awful I thought maybe on that game we had unlocked a player

That's my point we are a team full of people who have a decent game in 20

Which again is the fault of the flat cap wonder

I do understand what you mean, his height is definitely against him, but neither Whelan or Hunt have any sort of physical presence either. Vaughan has the talent and vision though to be much more creative than either of them. I just thought that Shez should have changed things once we went behind. We weren’t creating anything from midfield.

Whelan was immense against Bristol at home whilst Hunt is a waste of a squad place

Our problem is consistency we are quite regularly shite with the odd good game DKD the prime example

Ironically our defence has been our strongest despite where we are and that's all over the place for the next few games

How tall do you have to be to not get bullied off the ball? Whelan and Hunt (and Bowden before him) aren’t exactly Roy Keane or Vinnie Jones and they are quite a bit taller than Vaughan. The midfield as a whole is very weak, Missilou apart.

Yesterday though, in the second half, we were sleepwalking to another defeat, no creativity whatsoever, so why not bring Vaughan or Bahamboula on? We were losing anyway! Poor yesterday from the manager IMO. Bringing Stobbs on for Hope with only injury time left was pointless and way way too late for any player to be expected to make an impact.

Vaughan is bullied and shoved off the ball every game he plays

My Newcastle supporting mate came to Barrow at home and said he has talent but needs to toughen up and his height doesn't help

I was a relatively decent player in school but was never the biggest and the same happened to me

    Er. . exactly.

Shez rightly takes the accolades when we go 7 unbeaten.

But when we lose it’s all ALMO fault.

The truth is somewhere in between.

The overall decline and squad strength is all ALMO, but it shouldn’t absolve managers from debate- as you rightly pointy out.

The guy came in when we were bottom and adrift without a hope in hell

If you think Vaghan who gets bullied off the ball by

    everyone because he's 4 foot 3

Or Couto who can't defend his nan is the answer to where we are thank Chris you aren't the manager

Both look good neither will get us out of this
