  1. That was my guess at his plan yes. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t. Not sure what point you’re making?
  2. There is no simple fix. No magic bullet. For whatever reason this squad of players are not able as a collective to perform well enough, regularly enough, to mount a serious challenge. Mellon found a way of picking up points regularly to take us into the play offs but now we can’t seem to work out how to win games any more. Even with all that, we are still in with a shot of getting into the play offs and may even still win them. The league is just that shit.
  3. What just happened? Looked like it just needed a foot through it and we’d score.
  4. If you knew the zoom function was really clunky why would you constantly be zooming in and out so much?
  5. Feels like this needs Garner or Fondop on up front for Dallas.
  6. Great chance. Possible penalty for late, high challenge on Kitch.
  7. We could do with making 5 subs today! Too many not on it. We have had this before though then come out 2nd half and been better
  8. Walker isn’t helped by having McGahey behind him. I’d have Sutton on for him at half time.
  9. That’s neither possible or true. Alty and Barnet winning. Bromley and Gateshead losing. Aldershot and Solihull drawing. Halifax not playing. It doesn’t really matter anyway if we can’t win games.
  10. Awful game of football. It’s one of ‘those’ games so far where so many of them look well off the pace. They’re employing the most effective tactic against us - swarm us when we have the ball in midfield. They need geeing up at half time and to come out more up for it. All to play for…
  11. I don’t like the phrase must win especially when we’re not out of it if we don’t. But after so many draws we really need to be winning, starting today.
  12. They’re going to struggle surely. 7 games in 3 and a bit weeks with 4 of them on that cabbage patch. Will be exhausting.
  13. He's saved penalties too hasn't he? Seeing as they count less for strikers they must count double for keepers!
  14. Altrincham last 4 games: WWLW Altrincham previous 5 games: LLLLL For any bed wetters out there already waving the white flag.
  15. Nothing to fear from the Halifax game other than maybe the pitch. They were gifted goals and chesterfield also missed some good chances. Very flattering scoreline. It’s in our hands - win enough games and we’ll comfortably make it.
  16. We missed our chances, Halifax have taken theirs so far.
  17. Horrific defending by chesterfield. Gifting goals.
  18. I’ll happily pay for our games. Not so keen on putting money into other clubs accounts!
  19. I thought this was on tv but it ain’t. I’d ask people who had any recommendations that work well for nat league games to drop me a dm but I wouldn’t want to get the board in trouble…
  20. We've been drawing too much. We've only lost 1 of the last 4, like Altrincham and Aldershot (who are 1st and 2nd in the 4 game form table), but they both won the other 3 and we drew ours. We need to start winning soon to get back in it. What has helped Altrincham is the 3 games they won were against teams at the bottom end of that form table and their only loss was against Woking who are 5th in that table. Our next 4 games are against Dagenham (8th), Fylde (16th), Altrincham (1st) and Rochdale (10th). Only Altrincham have something to play for out of that lot unless Fylde get dragged down so we should capable of getting 3 wins out of this little run.
  21. It looked soft as anything. And you’re right about Norwood in injury time too. He’s miles on. I think I heard it said the flag was already up so I’m glad Hogan got in the way as that would have been infuriating to see a goal ruled out in those circumstances.
  22. So true. It’s an amazing piece of work really, that character must be 30 years old and the premise is pretty much the same but Coogan has written it so well it’s still funny and relevant now even with a pretty large volume of work. And the old stuff stands up still today too.
  23. At the time I wondered if the players had been told not to do anything that might lead to it kicking off. Then I remembered Norwood stood staring at them for ages after the penalty so maybe not
