Not too hard to imagine given the plight of so many North West clubs. As someone said on Twitter, any other business sector and you would say we are saturated and some firms will need to close down.

Both grounds are purchased for housing. The money raised is then put towards a ground which will make money 365, modern facilities and the clubs combine and are fan owned. The ground and gate should help said club become self-funding.

There is no way the lower leagues will carry the small town poor clubs like Bury, Rochdale and Oldham for much longer. The bubble is going to burst very soon. People with money are too wise to part it on such gambles so you end up with con men taking as much out as they can.

I think after a stormy start people would back it as it would have fan buy in. Just my opinion but it may well be that or bust. I'd rather watch a combined side than Latics lite playing in the same league as Ashton or Royton Town.

Where would this new ground be built and what size would it be? For fans who rely on public transport it has to be within easy reach for all, not just drivers. It can't be on green belt or farm land.

IMO it would initially attract people who were local to the ground but the die hard fans of each club wouldn't be interested. I don't know where this new club would be placed in the pyramid of leagues, but I doubt it could be an EFL club. It would take quite a while to build up a fan base. For me i's a non starter.

My point being, that the majority of the 3000+ of the fans who have been going are ST holders (not sure on figures) so the drop wont be as drastic as people believe until next year. FWIW Harry, I reckon youre in a minority of ST holders who will just stop straight away. Pay on the dayers will still be there aswell, freebies/last minute call to watch some football etc. So the drop of 4-500 isnt that drastic as people believed the protest would be. Add to the fact the footies been largely shit and the season is dying out, there would be a decline regardless. Dont think AL is worrying that much just yet.

You'd be surprised how many fans who go to matches have little knowledge of what goes on. When I'm travelling to or returning from a game on the bus, and general discussions I hear, people just don't know. They used to depend on the Chron. for info. but now it's not printed they have no means of knowing about the club in general.

  3. It could be worse. Coventry are facing being thrown out of ye EFL because they haven't been able to tell the EFL where they will be playing next season. They haven't yet agreed a deal with the Ricoh owners and have asked several clubs about ground sharing. Apparently it's being put to a vote of all EFL clubs at the next meeting, on whether Coventry should be thrown out or not.

Now it's time for you to copy and paste (like Saturday)! No need to mention your username.

I honestly didn't. I only looked at your prediction after I had posted mine, and didn't expect us to be so like minded. However we are miles apart tonight. Good luck.

Open to another loan move, not necessarily to our circus though!

“I just want to play more football. Maybe I would like to take a step up, but I must also show that I am ready for it".

Seems like he wants a loan to L1 at ;east next season.

Over 800 people ready to lap up anything that is thrown at them for another year then. Shame.

It's not many considering we have 3400 season ticket holders at the moment and they only have until tomorrow to renew to guarantee their seat!

Haven't I read somewhere that he has said he has made several bids to the landlord for the land but its rejected.

So wouldn't he have the money anyways to keep the club going regardless of whatever financial penalties us fans try?

He said he had done this in the Sky interview if I remember correctly, but Simon Blitz may confirm that for you if the Trust are in contact with him. He may also qualify why they are negotiating, or have accepted the bid from the fans group and not AL's. The reason could be because AL's offers were so low that they were totally unacceptable, or that they don't trust him.

IMHO best form of protest for now is for season ticket holders to stay away from next couple of home matches, won't effect finances but will show defiance agaist owner when attendances are published. This will be my form of protest.

I don't particularly think this will work sufficiently. The best option is to not renew season tickets for now. He won't necessary care about attendances, but he will care about money coming in. We may get some kind of movement from him then.

It’s a coach to take the team to matches once or twice a fortnight not a contract for a new fleet of nuclear submarines.

”Hello, Latics here. We need a coach to take the team to every away game starting on saturday when we play Bury. Can you do that?...How much?.....ok....Has it got a bog?....ok. See you Saturday”

It could have been a 6 month contract. The 1st. away game was 11th. August at Forest Green, which would run out 10th. February, the day after Crawley..

This is obviously being done now because season ticket renewals are not going well, and the anger on this board and other social media sites. He may well be close to going under and needs this money to keep the club going. Even if he isn't, he is not going to stop interfering, because it's in his nature to want to control everything. He can't trust a manager to spend the budget wisely and manage the team selection. His brother seems to be the only person he trusts, and we know nothing about either of them.

Boycott next home game to the extent we get a record low crowd. This needs to be a concerted, massively publicised effort. As shit as it is I don't want to miss a game, & moreso I don't want my lad to while he's so into it, but there's a bigger picture...

Those who have already renewed season tickets to ask for refunds.

Those of us who haven't to not renew. Do we contact the club by letter or email and inform them that we won't be renewing and explain why?

Does he have any other business interests as far as anyone knows?

As much as he seems to not have a clue what he's doing and, therefore, as much as it would be best if he went - it took Corney all those years to find a buyer so we have to assume AL won't be able to sell quickly either so should we be making specific, reasonable demands of him (probably via the Trust) that would make us happy to renew/attend? eg, the appointment of an experienced football Chief Exec to run the club properly?

I remember him being interviewed when he first took over, it may have been on GMR, and he said that he had, but didn't elaborate.

As for protesting - This board is only used by a very small number of fans. An ideal way to inform more fans would have been via the Chron.but I suspect it's readership has drastically shrunk since it went online. I don't know if the Oldham Times is read widely by fans or not. It may be worth while getting them involved when it has been decided what to do.

  12. AL is unpredictable and does things on the spur of the moment. He constantly says that the fans are everything and ether a protest or not buying season tickets may tip him over the edge and decide to walk away. I don't think he's as thick skinned as Corney. If he does walk then we will be in administration, and a points deduction. Am I right in thinking that if this happens at the end of this season it is a 10 point deduction this season and a further 10 next season, or over the summer it could be a 20 point deduction next season?
