Well the draft happened and all my bench guys are forwards! Which isn't good since one of my D men is 'out' and another is 'day to day'. I'v had to waive one of my bench forwards in order to claim a bench d man.

Signed up now, it's similar to ESPN player but there are some differences (ability to watch multiple games at one time, chat, last seasons games archived), my internest speed isn't great but it's running very smoothly with the adaptive bitrate dealing with any lull in speed

Game Centre Live is up and running, it had the Leafs v Sens game last night apparently. I haven't managed to sign up yet because (like ESPN Player) it won't accept my Maestro debit card.

Ha yeh but we don't need to depend on our ageing superstars anymore which is a plus *cough* selanne *cough*. We had 3 70+ point scorers last season, only one left. And even though Richards left we'v used his money and the money we were forced to spend because of the wage floor rising to create some real depth for the first time in 3 years. I'm happy with our team. The only thing i'm annoyed at is that we have some good nhl ready prospects that there isn't a spot on the roster for.

lol i know, people think we're dross and have no good players. It's Benn i wan't, i'm expecting him to have a brake out year so this way if he doesn't i'l be doubly disappointed

GCL is confirmed for europe, i got in touch with NHL support and they said we're definitely getting it 'by the end of september', bit vague date wise but as pre season games aren't included it doesn't matter. Oh and the price will be 159USD which is around £105, that is every regular season game and the play offs . For this fantasy draft, are we supposed to have a list set online by the 29th or do we input at the time of the draft?

Yeh it was the two legged 'War of the Roses' cup, we won the second leg 4-1. We got physically bullied throughout the two games as well by a faster, tougher but ultimately less skilled Sheffield side led by Andre Payette who is playing the role of pantomime villain again this season by the look of things. Well yesterday was the start of hockey season for me, the stars had their first practice of training camp and i went to my first game of the season, a 4-4 draw between the Sheffield Steeldogs and the Manchester Phoenix. and of course latics won. A good day all round. Just hope that when game centre comes online on tuesday they will have the stars pre season games. Anyone heard anything about the TV rights?

NHL Game Centre Live is apparently no longer locked in Europe. Usually when you go on the site you get a message saying that we have to use ESPN Player, now we get the message detailing all the features GCL has and how we can use it. Even has a short video demo.

I'l give it a bash, the only fantasy thing iv done before is sky sports premier league one and all i do with that is set it up at the start of the season and leave it. Bit pointless really. Karlis Skrastins who played the last 2 seasons in Dallas died in the crash too, he'd just signed for them after leaving us. Really terrible news

Well ESPN are still negotiating for the TV rights but they aren't negotiating directly with the league, rather the group that the league have sold the European broadcasting rights to and from what i'v heard since my last post, NHL Game Centre Live will be made available world wide in the last week of this month, rather than reverting to the ESPN streaming site which i'm glad about as by all accounts it is much better. Theres a good thread on it here

When do we start the new thread, training camp? Opening night? I'm itching for the season to start, but also a bit worried that i won't be able to watch any games because ESPN still haven't managed to negotiate the rights for Europe. Although several different people seem to think that the NHL will simply unlock NHL Game Centre Live for us to subscribe to. But as of now it is still locked. That is no help to you guys who watched on TV because i doubt that sky will pick up the games, unless they replace elite league coverage with NHL coverage but i doubt it, they'd be paying more money for slightly higher viewing numbers

Does the amount of penalties not just show that we are getting on the ball in the opposition box, which is surely a good thing

I can't wait for the season to start, even if we do finish bottom of the division. Langenbrunner has gone thank god, he proved to be a waste of space last season and i was more than glad to see the back of him. As for Richards he will no doubt be sorely missed but we have signed 5 depth players of ranging abilities and addressed some of our problems on the PK and the face off dot so even though we might not have he scoring power anymore we should hopefully let in a few less soft goals which we were prone to last season. At this moment in time i'd say the coyotes are worse off than us having lost around 4 of their best players and i think it'l be a toss up between them and us for who finishes bottom in the Pacific in what may well be our last season in it if the rumored re alignment comes to pass. As for the ducks, no doubt they'l fight with the kings over who comes second to the sharks.
