  1. 5,000 would produce spin offs like extra catering and car park revenue. Latics have to move with the times and with falling gates cannot possibly offer the same deal next season as this.
  2. And out of position so many times I'm sure he was in the Lookers car park at one stage.
  3. It's possible then the Lookers stand may still be standing next season if that contract isn't signed ?
  4. What a shame, you missed the performance of a lifetime, when I'm depressed I think of that and it always brings a smile to my face. Here's one from France; Luigi Glombard
  5. Yes he's been mentioned, no one who saw him could ever forget him.
  6. William Andrews (born Kansas City, USA) played for Latics in 1908, anyone remember him ? More recenty Calvin Zola, and how could anyone forget the incomparable Ndiwa Lord-Kangana . Here's a gem of a quote I found about him; "Latics boss Iain Dowie told the club's official website: "He's 6ft 3in tall, strong and quick and he is very commanding in the air, which is so important."
  7. Latics had better not do any pre match warm ups or it could be 3 on the bench Saturday.
  8. Gunnar Halle without a doubt. others foreign born players you may remember, but not mentioned so far. Mickael Antoine-Curier Junior Agogo Mark Arber Julian Baudet Paul Rachubka Mark Watson Bruce Grobbbelaar Christian Vonk Hank Keizerweerd Alexandros Kryatoglou
  9. Bradley Hudson Odoi certainly has something to work on, he never stopped running, showed good ball control and his distribution was very good. However, he needs to be stronger on the ball and show more directness in front of goal. Yes, I would offer him a deal. Liam Francis whilst good in the air was caught the wrong side of the attacker too many times for my liking. I would need to see if this a common trait with him. Sorry, Ashley Kelly does not work hard enough for me. In answer to how do I know if Chris Denham of Droylsden has been on trial at Latics or not, I do know he has never featured in a reserve game.
  10. Good summary, however Iv'e seen far better in non league this season, Droylsden's skillful pacy winger Chris Denham in particular, who turns in excellent performances week in week in a struggling team. Why isn't he offered a trial ?
  11. Strange he wasn't even on the bench for the last match, leaving just 4 subs.
  12. Keith Hicks, England under 18s as I remember. Wasn't Paul Black selected for England under 18s too.
  13. Iv'e seen some good Latics debuts in my time, Bobby Johnstone being the highlight. but the one I remember the most was in the 1960s when young Irishman called Tony Foster made a magnificent league debut, unfortunately he never repeated that performance and I believe returned home after a few matches. Who made the best Latics debut in your opinion ?
  14. That reminds me of the young Irish lad Tony Foster's brilliant league debut, he then faded into obscurity.
  15. All FL clubs have to abide by the rules they accept on participating in that competition.
  16. Does anyone remember the days when Latics reserves played non league teams like Stalybridge Celtic, Ashton United, Hyde United and Droylsden in the Lancashire Combination and Cheshire League ?
  17. He is quick and direct, likes to cut in from the flanks and have a crack at goal. Very useful IMO.
  18. I was the opposite, dedication n determination but no ability lol You can't be too bad, some in the FL have neither
  19. Many kids have ability, but not the dedication and determination to make the grade, IMO Black has all the required qualities.
  20. From what I have seen of him in the last year the lad has ability and is very determined, he will do well.
  21. Scottish Daily Record: Wadsworth to quit Gretna. Wadsworth The rumours are 6' 2" under 21 International goalkeeper Greg Fleming (21), Uruguayan Fabian Yantorno (25) and Paul Murray (31) could move to Latics.
