Nish has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, much to manager Mixu Paatelainen’s delight. Bristol City midfielder Alex Russell will remain on loan at Cheltenham until the end of the season. Port Vale have ended speculation about the future of teenage striker James Lawrie by signing him up on a new two-and-a-half year deal. "There were a few clubs interested, which I was flattered about but Vale are the club I would like to play for," the 17-year-old said. But 27-year-old defender Richard Walker has had his Port Vale contract terminated by mutual consent. Walker managed just 17 starts, having suffered with tendonitis in his knee.

  12. Coventry striker Dele Adebola is set to join Bristol City in a £300,000 deal subject to a successful medical on deadline day. Doncaster Rovers have cancelled the contract of veteran striker Bruce Dyer by mutual consent. One of the players interesting Doncaster Rovers, according to speculation in the Hull area, is Hull City's Northern Ireland international midfielder Stuart Elliott.
  13. Of the current crop I particularly like the off the ball play and great attitude of Nathan Kilcourse and the sharp courageous striker Adam Edwards, I expect them to come more to the fore next season though. Closer to the first team Paul Black has the right attitude too. It's up to them though to continue progressing. I like players with good basic skills and determination, I have seen many talented kids fall by the wayside who have not applied themselves. One of the best prospects I ever recommended as a teenager got sidetracked and isn't playing the game at any level now. I have the utmost respect for Tony Philiskirk he is dong a wonderful job and has many more great prospects in the pipeline.
  14. Strange, you would have thought Latics would have jumped at the extra £100,000, or tried to up PNE's offer. Could be though the PNE deal has extra add ons we don't know about.
  15. Left wingers are rare breed, if I see an up and coming Alan Groves from any where - be it Latics, league, or non league I will let soon you know.
  16. Perhaps PNE will sell him to Derby and land a quick £100,000 profit
  17. As an ex premiership scout I know you look to players potential when offering a contract, not what level they are playing at the time. I said it many times last season (as others will testify) when Trotman was in the reserves he had that potential, and therefore in my eyes should have been given a longer contract. However, it's all about opinions and I accept yours.
  18. Latest News; Neal Trotman: Derby County in late £600,000 bid (In thought PNE was a done deal ?) Kevin Besty: Bristol City to Walsall - on loan Anthony Elding: Stockport County to Leeds United - fee agreed Baz Savage: Poised to sign for Kilmarnock Keep adding to the thread please as more news comes in.
  19. The fact is hadn't Gregan got injured and still be playing Trotman would still be awaiting his debut and probably released at the end of the season on a free. That shows in the contract he was originally offered, one year and not 3 or 4 like some of the other youngsters.
  20. He should have been offered a 3 year contract in the first place, what were the management thinking of, it was obvious even when in the reserves he was a colossus.
  21. There is cash for progressing through each round of the F.A.Cup, plus a bit of TV money. Bet they sold a few extra programmes too at £3 a time, also the catering and club shop will have profited.
