  1. It doesn't sit well with me. There seems to be a complete lack of respect for the fans of Ebbsfleet, who seem to me to be pretty long-suffering anyway. It reminds me of the lack of consideration for fans of Wimbledon when creating the frankenstein club at Milton Keynes. Again, the attitude seems to be that there's not many of them so their feelings don't matter. As with Franchise FC, I think they should have started at the bottom of the pyramid, not steal a league position achieved over many years. It just seems to be a big game of Championship Manager and I don't think you should play games like this with a football club. Anyone thinking of investing should save their £35 for the bucket collections when it all goes wrong and the true fans are left to pick up the pieces.
  2. Eardley's actually a Liverpool fan. Hates United, though, so he's practically one of us
  3. Mainly from Leeslover, and often something you wish you hadn't learnt
  4. Never did it at home games but I last got in as a kid at Peterborough on my 28th Birthday!
  5. We must be able to come up with a chant for Eardley that mentions his dislike of ManUre, (without just nicking a chant off ManUre and changing the names). There must be someone who posts on here who has a track record of coming up with clever, witty and catchy songs. If not, I'm sure Diego will cobble something together
  6. It seems there are questions being asked as to whether the 'new drummer' should continue at Doncaster. Doncaster Rivals Link They're obviously using it but surely wouldn't have the nerve to bring it to BP, would they?
  7. Tired, hoarse, a little drunk and with seriously sore hands through applauding. Should go to bed really but I'm working my way through every post on here (and Rovers Rearguard ) Proud of the lads tonight. Four points from three tough away games would have been a decent enough tally if we'd been playing well, but after Northampton we couldn't have hoped for as much (and the majority expected less, according to the poll I posted a little over a week ago). To the faithful few who got behind the team at all three games - full credit to you - you fully deserved that tonight and it was clear at the end that Shez appreciated it.
  8. I know who you mean. She may well cheer ManUre goals in the pub, but she travels all over the country and never stops singing for Latics at matches. She was told to be quiet at Crewe by one particularly miserable Latics fan
  9. Is it the eating of the babies in itself which would change your opinion, or the fact that, in your hypothetical scenario, he was doing it whilst he should have been training?
  10. No, you're getting confused. Robbie Winters was the fat dancer in Take That
  11. Never heard that one before. It should be used more often
  12. I'm glad they show extended highlights now. Memories from the night are, for some reason, a little hazy. A definite improvement by Taylor. Some good football, on another night we could have won it. Imagine the scenes if we'd have got a late winner! Watch Tommy Wright at the very end. You can see he appreciated the efforts of the fans.
  13. On the extended highlights on the OS you can hear 'Does he bum his Merry Men?' at around six minutes 50 seconds
  14. I think there are a lot of loyal fans like yourself who, through the stage in their life at present, can't make it to every game. I personally (due to my own personal circumstances) struggle to make Saturday matches at the moment, which is why I try to get to as many midweek games (Reserves games in the Midlands included) as possible. I was a week in-week out supporter for many years and, when my circumstances change, I will be again. How many people over the age of 40 are there who have watched Latics home and away, week in-week out every season for the whole of their life? Very few, I would imagine. Full credit must go to those who do travel all over the country with Latics, we all have our own personal cicumstances and those who manage to work manage to go to every game in spite of other commitments should be applauded. It is often too easy to criticise those that can't, though. KtF
  15. For those who have yet to see it, Dead Man's Shoes is on Film Four tonight at 22:50
  16. On his Latics World interview he says he's hoping to be available for Saturday
  17. Any chance of the game being awarded to Latics as a result of this blatant disregard for the rules?
  18. I think it could have been worded better, but it does seem that the atmosphere is often better with smaller numbers. It seems to work something like this: Of 300 Latics fans there last night, let's say 200 were singing. Let's also assume that they travel to every game. If we then assume that of the additional 1200 fans in a crowd of 1500 only 100 sing It's then a case of 200 out of 371, all stood together or 300 out of 1500, split up across the crowd. Hence the better atmosphere in a smaller crowd.
  19. Whilst it may rhyme, it probably doesn't stand up logically, when scrutinised
  20. There is, of course, an alternative view There's always one
  21. Just noticed someone has given the support 1 out of 10 Any suggestions who that might be?
  22. ....and she's an anorexic.....she thinks of Oldham Athletic
