  1. I didn't mention the group of lads who also sang for much of half-time under the stand
  2. You'll have to wait until we publish the obligatory hooligan book to get the full story. Mind you, it won't be like 'The Football Factory' , more like 'The Marmite Factory'
  3. I said 9 out of 10. Gives us some room for improvement at Orient and Tranmere
  4. 371 Blues at Forest, apparently. Huge credit to each and every one of them who got behind the team tonight. By my reckoning we sang for at least 75 minutes of the 90. OUTSUNG BY 200 FANS, OUTSUNG BY 200 FANS
  5. I've changed my mind about going to the match - I'm off to Alton Towers instead
  6. The smell can't possibly be as good as the smell from the Marmite factory in B-O-T (not to mention the breweries)
  7. This poll will be closed before kick off tonight (Thanks Exile) so get voting! So no cheating by waiting until the three points are in the bag tonight! Once the three games have been played it will be interesting to see how accurate people's expectations were.
  8. We have three very tough away games coming up. Considering our league position we all know we need to pick up points from these games. How many points do you think we will pick up from these three games? Vote now!
  9. How could I have completely forgotten 'The Blue Flag'? How often do we sing that these days? That one is DEFINITELY getting an airing on Tuesday.
  10. I know the subject of atmosphere has been done to death on here but I'd like to make a suggestion to those who sing. Whilst I would never criticise those that do sing I feel that part of the problem is the lack of variety of songs that are sung. I understand the reason for this. It takes a certain amount of courage (or a great deal of alcohol) to start a chant with the distinct possibility that it will die on it's arse leaving you looking foolish. We therefore play it safe and stick with those chants more likely to get a response (Sheridan's Blue and White Army, OWTB, Come on Oldham). I know I do. As I say, no criticism of anyone is intended as I am as guilty of playing it safe as anyone. A number of posters seem to be showing a determination to create a decent atmosphere on Tuesday night. My challenge to those who start chants (and I'm including myself in this) is to try to use as many different chants as possible on Tuesday. Those who wouldn't necessarily start a chant themselves but join in with others can help massively with this. If no-one joins in then human nature says we will all go back to playing it safe. We can use this thread to jog the memory of a few forgotten chants. I'm not necessarily talking about songs from the seventies or eighties but even a few years ago we had a fair few chants which were heard regularly but are not heard anymore. Our rich musical heritage is in danger of being forgotten As examples, I can't remember the last time I heard: 'If the Blues should play in Rome or Mandalay' or 'If I had the arse of a sparrow' or 'We're Oldham, we're barmy' If you have your own favourite that you haven't heard for a while, add it to this thread and you never know, someone's memory might be jogged enough to start it off on Tuesday. Keep the Faith
  11. Up the Junction (1968) is well worth tracking down, as well.
  12. If you can wait until 3pm to set off from Burton (and are returning to Burton afterwards) then I'll take Mrs Sideburns's's's seat.

Simple question. I have my opinion, wondering what others think?
  14. Scrap that - I've just seen the draw. Come on you Brewers. I was looking down the results earlier without realising the draw for the next round had been made. I thought to myself 'I bet Harrogate Town get drawn against Harrogate Railway' Sure enough they have!
  15. My contact in Boston tells me tickets have been selling at $1500 a seat. At that price I think I'd stick to watching it on telly, as he is doing!
  16. It was no surprise to discover that Chadwell was an American cousin, as he was certainly a 'super-size' version of Chaddy. I asked my four-year old son what was his favourite part of the day. He said "Meeting Chadwell". Move over Chaddy, there's a new hero in town
  17. Can I suggest to some in the NSM that instead of sitting in silence straining to hear the Chaddy End they could actually try contributing to the atmosphere themselves.
  18. I think you've a nerve asking for help whilst referring to 'computer gimps'. The modern, pc term is, of course, 'geeks'
  19. Ken Griffey Jr will perhaps be best remembered for his brief spell with the Springfield Isotopes
  20. Note to self - read posts carefully when drunk - it will eliminate the need to ask stupid questions. I'll check with the Sideburns's what plans they've got then I'll PM you.
  21.
