  1. I dunno I think it was Porters goal. The ball was going into the net anyways. Surely if that was an own goal then the one Poggi fumbled a couple of weeks back was also an own goal?
  2. Did he even touch it? If it boosts his confidence then give it to him. He seemed more up for it after we scored. Think his shot just before the goal was probably the best thing he's done in the first team yet. He still doesn't challenge all the time in the air though and doesn't seem like he's giving his all to the cause like the other players are.
  3. surprised he didn't add that was because he assembled half the team himself last year or someat!
  4. It doesn't help when teams defend in numbers, hard to play a passing game when they're closing us down all the time. We're gonna see it a lot between now and the end of the season, we're still grinding out the results though and apart from the Bristol game we have easily been the better team. So long as we keep it tight at the back like we have done over the season eventually the opposition's concentration will fade and we'll get our chances to score just like today and Scunthorpe before.
  5. Tranmere's defence were good today, they had to be because their midfield and attack were nowhere! There was a few around me that noticed that the Tranmere players just looked knackered after only half an hour. Ronnie had a plan B today, it was when he took Shuker off and decided that we were too good for them and played for a point from then on. He even tried to switch Ellison and Shuker to opposite wings but Eardley and the player Ronnie released Lomax were in full control. Was a pathetic performance from them going forward and they got their just rewards at the end. Apart from that shot right near the end did they actually have a shot?
  6. It was for kicking or stamping wasn't too sure but there was a bit of aggro. Probably trying to release his leg as someone has said but the appeal board won't change the decision. Looks like we're gonna miss Wellens for 3 games!
  7. Did we just win then? Are we top of the league? Am I going to wake up from this dream? It just seems surreal. Was manic in BP when that went in. Get in!
  8. I'll be surprised if he's pitchside on saturday. He's gonna get absolutely slaughtered and there'll be nowhere to hide this time!
  9. I thought he was quite composed on the ball as well on sunday, he took his time and most of all just got stuck in and in away games a player like that can be vital!
  10. Nice report Mark. A fair reflection of the game I think.
  11. There wasn't much there to eat to be honest, thank god for the free garlic bread or else I'd have starved today! Thought the ground was quite decent really, surprised there wasn't many admission dodgers on the hill behind the stand. The fans to the left of us were quite noisy until we were in the lead the "You're not famous anymore" and "that is why you're staying down" chants were quite funny. Chickers got us out of the car park in record time as well, no queueing in there for 45 minutes and no queueing in traffic on the M6 unlike certain others
  12. Because he doesn't take on the entire opposition whilst having the ball balanced on his head with his eyes closed and running backwards. He just gets stuck in and causes a nuisance.
  13. Gregan did alright today, his fault for the first, poggi told him to clear, he just left it and let Kirk in to score. Gave him a right booting later on though and got a throw-in for his troubles. He seemed at time to try too hard to be good, clearing the ball across the box with Cobblers players waiting to intercept it! Rocastle was good today, did his job very well in the second half, just gets in the way and halts attacks, even looked pretty decent on the ball. Wellens was definately MOM, he seemed really fired up today and he ran the game, scored the first and had a few very decent efforts. Thought Porter was great as well, man marked all game but still managed to get free to assist Warne and bravely head past their keeper and also had a couple of great chances. First half we weren't brilliant at the back. Holt was giving Eardley a terrible time but he managed just about. Lots of hoof ball. Second half we were far better playing the football that we've been used to and playing killer long balls every now and again. Were far more in control until they got their second. I didn't think we would win today, just thought we'd miss McDonald too much but the lads rallied and got the win to move us to 2nd.
  14. That's what got sung to us by the Northampton fans shortly after they equalised. Don't think any of the fans who were there could believe it. This proves that we truly are a MASSIVE club, well in Northampton's eyes anyways.
  15. Holt scored a few cracking goals for us. Apparently there was one against Colchester away but the camera wasn't working or someat? Remember him volleying one in first time after a long cross from the other side of the pitch, think it was against Cambridge? Allott's against Bury or Tipton's goal against Wrexham.

    New Main Stand

Broadway Stand lower is great. Yeah you get drenched every now and again but the atmosphere near the away fans side is always good. Been a bit disappointed with these new rules restricting us to the tiny room in the stand. Not even allowed to use the loo's inside. It's a bit shoddy really. The again I suppose the licencing people need to be seen they're actually doing some work! The sooner the stand is demolished and rebuilt to be more fan-friendly the better. I'd go in the Rocky Rd End if I was given the chance.
  17. Name: Ian McAlister Occupation: Administrative Advisor (I need a new job!) Location: Springhead, Oldham How long a supporter: Since 1989 Favourite Game: When we beat Swindon Town away 2-1 under Brian Talbot. Awesome atmosphere from the fans and the players worked their hardest to all but secure safety. Favourite Moment: Matt O'Halloran's injury time goal against Rushden All time great: Definately Andy Ritchie for me although David Eyres comes a very close second. Favourite Current: So hard to choose at the moment but I'll go for Chris Taylor. Finish: Champions Biggest Rival: Blackpool And Finally, You became a millionaire, Oldham were available to purchase, what would you do to make our club Secure for the future? Fund an academy system for the youth team and give Tony Philliskirk a contract for life. Build a new stadium at another location in Oldham.
