  1. Alessandra and Smalley have played a fair amount of games now and have scored not many at all!
  2. Whats with our top scorer being on the bench?
  3. Yeah Gazza would do a great job as manager wouldn't he?
  4. so we aren't relegation fodder at the moment then? Cos I thought Shez was doing a really bad job?
  5. It's been a pretty disappointing season so far, to the awfulness of October when we were bottom of the league, then the fightback to mid-table, the seven-game winning streak away resulting in us battering Leeds and humbling the mighty Everton, players were then needed to push us on further but they didn't really materialise and now we have a huge injury crisis and still despite this climbing upto 8th. Shez isn't as clueless as some think he is, he's certainly not inept as despite our problems this season with injuries and players not coming in he has still steered us to the top-half, which considering where we were and the players he has available now is a pretty good achievement, only a couple of weeks ago were we saluting the defeat of Tranmere by a team full of youngsters. There's one part this season where Shez has got it wrong and that is in the transfer market, he signed too many risky players in the summer which backfired on him early on, he got the team buzzing by the end of the year and then Kilkenny and Bertrand left and weren't replaced. If he was a rubbish manager then with a team of youngsters we'd be with the likes of Port Vale, he needs help to bring players in I feel or a better scout at least. I don't think a Joe Royle type person should be brought in above Shez to oversee transfers but I think this is an area that really needs to be looked at.
  6. I won't be renewing but that's because I'll probably end up missing quite a few games with work commitments, missed a fair few this season as it is. Not worth me renewing
  7. I remember Dean Holden going something similar to our fans after a game and it didn't do him any favours at all! From what I've read on here it sounds like Shez lost the plot big time today, just like he did at the end of last season as well. Doesn't sound good to me at all. A manager who has had a lot of pressure on his shoulders and has finally let rip.
  8. Whats the obsession with a winger having to beat his man? Yeah it's more pleasing to see but surely the most important thing is that the winger creates opportunities for the team by delivering quality crosses, passes to attack? Lids is a quality player who can do just that and if he can get over his injury problems is well worth another season. Same happens with England, Beckham isn't the player to beat his man down the wing for pace but his crossing is fantastic and without him in the last world cup we'd have gone out a lot sooner, yet everyone seems to prefer Lennon who has got great pace and skills yet fails to create chances!
  9. Ooh Roger Palmer! Cracking header! Was hoping for a bit more in the way of highlights.
  10. I disagree, players and agents need to lower their demands for wages and bonuses for lower league clubs to survive, unfortunately that is very unlikely to happen. The way things are now clubs can't survive on just the fans turning up each week paying to attend the games, they have to diversify in anything they can, things like corporate activites, concerts etc anything to bring extra money in.
  11. Great news mate! Hope the club are fine with it too, you would be a huge loss to the club!
  12. Yeah I agree with that, I'm sure he was trying to make up for being turned by old-man Furlong which is bad enough! We'll see if Thompson can show us why he has been brought here!
  13. Reuben will only be out for a game, it wasn't violent conduct.
  14. Did we not field a full subs bench today? Think we're being a bit harsh on Constantine today, played much of the game with 10 men and created a couple of good chances, one where he was very unlucky not to score. Shez has stated that Bell isn't ready to play in the first-team, if that's Shez's opinion then he should stick by it. I've not heard ANY rave reviews of Bell in the reserves this season.
  15. Why not? He's not getting a game where he is now. Really sorry to have annoyed you though, won't do it again...
  16. It is only a weeks deal and will probably only play against Luton. So long as he's better than Bell then Shez has done well. God help him if he was making his debut at home.
  17. Carlo Nash is a great shout, shame he went elsewhere last week! Perhaps we could get him in the summer permanently.
  18. Shez has said recently that Josh Bell isn't ready to play in the first-team, he's only really been on the bench because there has been no one else. No point bringing a keeper in on loan if he's not going to play at all. Plus the guy is from Sheff Wed, one of Shez's old clubs and I'm sure he keeps a good eye on what happens there.
  19. Has he played for Rotherham when he was on loan there? Could be why he'll be starting ahead of Bell. Needs some info on the guy.
  20. I'll be amazed if he gets a contract there!
  21. Very pleased with Constantine coming to us on loan, never thought he'd join us and I'm sure what he's said about joining us he'll have said when he joined Leeds and Port Vale before that. Definately in it for himself but if he gets a few goals in the meantime I won't be complaining! Get Wolfy out on loan!
  22. RIP A player I wish I had the privilege of seen play at BP A True Legend
  23. We need a striker who is going to be at the club throughout the playoffs as well. No point getting a striker in now who will have to leave before the end of the normal season and then hope we can win the play offs without him! I know it's not the latics way to be patient but we seriously have to be. I won't expect any loan signings coming in until mid/late March at the earliest. We still have a chance of the play offs but we need to go on a run of winning game, not winning one and losing the next and the sooner we we can do that the stronger our position will be. Think one lesson Shez will have learned from this season is the squad some more experienced squad players in the squad, we've realied on our youth players far too much this season.
  24. Clegg was awful! made Rob Scott look like a good player, who did he play for when he left us Hyde United? Ritchie was sacked too early that season, he'd got the team top of the league and then a few poor results saw him lose his job, Moore wanted his own man in and perhaps he was right to get new management in, new ideas coming into the team. So long as Shez is doing a good job and is given backing by the fans I think he will be left to get on with it.
