Don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer really.
We all have our own reasons for voting either way.
For what it’s worth I’d probably have voted Latics had we been in L1 this season but I’d personally get more joy from England winning this World Cup than us getting promotion back to where we have been for over 20 years!

England. Want to tell my kids I’ve seen England win the World Cup.

Doesn't it have to be agreed with the player too though? I am fairly sure we took up Kuqi's option in 2012, but he decided against it...
Doubt it otherwise it would be a pointless clause. You’d just offer a new 1 year contract.

I heard 2 "frenchlads" had already signed although the plan is young British players!
Young British players 100% the way to go for a club such as ourselves.
Rightly or wrongly they seem to be worth more than foreign players in the transfer market (on the whole) especially outside the Premier League.
I think the way to go for us is probably picking up released Prem players or players with “problems” and being that home of the unloved again then selling them on. Hopefully for proper fees now that Corney has gone.

Majority don’t like him but credit where credits due. Bunn and Rhodes must be Barry’s choice. AL wouldn’t know these two...only someone who’s a fan would
In my head Barry has advised AL to go for Bunn having probably been present in his previous 2 interviews and him coming close.
Then AL has appointed Bunn and asked him who he wants as his assistant. Bunn has asked Rhodes if he would be up for it, they’ve discussed and AL has made it happen.
That’s how I would hope it was done but who knows! Doesn’t really matter now does it, he’s here!
-
Cannot wait for the season to start now!
Hopefully AL will give Bunn and Rhodes the funds necessary to win promotion. If he does this, we could be in for an exciting 12 months.
They’re both clearly very passionate about the club. Wouldn’t it be great if these were the ones to drag us out of the doldrums?

Not only that, but the "complete boycott" of the North Stand called for by OAFC Lover is incomprehensible. In other words, back to a three sided ground. Exactly how is that supposed to benefit the team?
I’ve not “called for” a complete boycott. Simply said I’d love to see it and see them fall to their knees.
I won’t set foot in the place but would never tell others what to do or where to spend their money.
For the record though, I don’t think the North Stand being empty would make a blind bit of difference to the team. If anything, it would probably create a better atmosphere having more people together and could in a way create a solidarity around the place if the players were aware or the reasons behind it.
The pitfall would be that we could potentially lose use of the gym facilities for the squad but you’d hope that would be GloGym’s decision and not the 3 leaches’.

Does it make any money at the moment?
I see three options, someone pays the asking price, a new stadium or it starts to make decent money and they decide that's enough.
I certainly don't see it just carrying on as now for the next 10 years.
Well I’m sure I read that the gym is losing a shed load of money but BrassBank will be getting theirs don’t you worry about that.
I think we can assume AL won’t be buying them out of the North Stand any time soon as he’s said a few times he wants to get things right on the pitch first and I highly doubt he could fund a new stadium.
But then if it was to start making proper money the three leaches would want to suck every penny they could out of it and I would imagine they’d just put the price to buy the stand up.
Not one to be all doom and gloom but I can’t see any happy ending for us in the situation they’ve put us in.

Surely the more people use it the more profit it makes the quicker they are happy to move on.
Do you think they will ever move on while there’s money to be made?
However I do see your point.
I think the technical term for our predicament is ‘bent over a fucking barrel’.
-
Would be very satisfying to see a complete boycott of that stand and make it as difficult as possible for them to make a profit from it.
-
Having only skim-read this thread, I think we all know where we stand with TTA.
I can hand on heart say I won’t be stepping foot anywhere near the North Stand and spending a single penny on anything that makes them thunder cunts richer.
Who owns the rest of the stadium? If it’s the club/Abdallah then I would be all for putting up a giant board completely separating it from the rest of Boundary Park.

I'm not denying he's been good in the past. I'm making the point that currently he's an unknown entity, our squad is full of unknowns, do we really need another one?
I suppose if he's cheap enough its worth the gamble
Hardly an unknown entity. He’s been training with Everton and keeping in shape. You don’t just lose all your footballing ability when you haven’t played in competitive games for a bit. Ask Lee Hughes.

Why has nobody offered Baxter a contract for the last 2 years is what you've got to ask yourself. Nobody else thinks hes worth the risk so why should we, he isn't Adrian Mutu.
And we’re in League 2 not the Premier League.

Nothing could trump signing someone who hasn't played football for 2 years?
No, nothing could trump signing Baxter.
I’ve not played football for 2 years either. Hardly the same.
The lad oozes class and is a fan favourite. The sort of signing that will kick off our transfer window with a bang and get the fans on board.

Could it be an higher profile signing to try and drive through a few more season ticket sales? Here's hoping.
No one could trump Jose Baxter baby.

Me too - I can’t get myself excited until I can sleep in my full kit!

Yes but not for life.
How long was his national ban for then?

Wasn’t he banned from all football grounds in the country after his court appearance?
So a pointless move from Rochdale as he’d be banned from there anyway?

We've a shocking pile of centre backs. Stones makes me ill. 50mil. Jesus wept
Gone are the days of the proper English centre back now I think.
All people want now is one that can pass out from the back.

I'm not sure anyone has been unlucky really, Shelvey is a walking red card and not great either.
I think Welbeck is the biggest surprise inclusion for me, he's almost permanently injured, probably a reflection on the alternatives TBH.
Lallana is never fit, and you could guarantee if he was fit to start the first game he wouldn't be fit to start the second.
Wilshere always likely to break down at any moment. I have no problem not taking perennial crocks.
I think the squad looks desperately short of quality, especially in midfield, think we will do well to get out of the group, certainly no better than that.
I don’t think Shelvey has even had a yellow in 2018. Could be wrong though.
The rest I agree with.
Surely someone like Charlie Austin would have been a better shout than Welbeck?!

It says on the website that adult sales are 10% down on last season. Whatever number that was.
It says adult prices are 10% lower not sales

Still in shock at Welbeck going.
5 goals in the league all season gets you to the World Cup nowadays so there’s still hope for Rhys Murphy.

Wonder if they’ve tried Evergreen on it. It’s made my garden look the nuts.
