Our only leader whose legs had gone and was warming the bench at best, despite being one of our highest earners.

The loaning of Clarke wasn't the problem, not adequately replacing him was. Gerrard did OK but his legs aren't far off going themselves. Ditto Wilson.

He didn’t need to be on the pitch to be a leader.

  2. I was halfway through writing a post saying I’d only keep Hamer and Edmundson.

However, after much thought, Hunt Gerrard and Dummigan should be very good defenders at our new level.

Gardner if playing alongside another decent CM that doesn’t sulk and want to do everything himself should be good at L2 level.

Holloway and Davies will probably be needed but will again need a nippy poacher next to them. Don’t think we’ll see Doyle next season so we’ll see who we can bring in.

We lacked players shouting encouragement since Clarke went.Far too quiet a team.Could do with signing someone like Northamptons 5 and 6 who were superb against our timid strikers.

    Whole team needs a leader.

Still baffles me why we thought loaning out probably our only real leader whilst still in a relegation battle was a good idea.

Still, at least it allowed us to bring players like Benyu and Pringle in.

    Didnt seem inspirational to me.

Don’t really think any of them inspire especially the manager so we were always a bit snookered!

Don’t get me wrong BP, Doyle wouldn’t be my choice of captain either but from what I saw at games he was probably the only one with an ounce of leadership.

As Stevie said, it shows just how devoid of leaders we were.

Making quiet man Doyle captain was a strange one, I'd have given it to a battler like Edmundson or Hamer, no matter how young they are they set an example to others.

Doyle is far from a quiet man on the pitch, probably the only one that shouts instructions and encouragement. We don’t know what he’s like in the dressing room either.

Ripley all but signed until AL pulled the plug on the deal and forced Placide on Shez, I posted it on here at the time and it was the one decision that vexed Shez the most which resulted in him throwing his toys out of the pram, Ripley wanted to come back here it was his preferred option but AL wanted his own clown in goal.

And as entertaining as I have found Placide at times, he has been an absolute fucking clown for a good few games this season costing us points.

He is under contract so the only way he could have interviews elsewhere if AL and the club allowed an approach.

If he’s been told he won’t be in charge next season then he probably has been allowed.

Morally though it doesn’t sit right that he’s going for another job when we have such an enormous game tomorrow. His mind should be solely fixed on getting us safe.

Its football though and all morals have vanished from the game.

Grief. Toys back in the pram. I'm not doubting you were told what you posted, simply that there's no hard evidence for it being true and yet it then somehow becomes undisputed fact to others.

Fair dos mate misunderstanding on my part so apologies :-)

Love how people have a meltdown if people question what they say. Who gives a fuck? If you have info, share it, power to the people.

No meltdown here mate, just wouldn’t like to gain a reputation for talking shite on here like others have in the past that’s all.

Couldn't he have been pulled from training if he was overdoing it as a precaution?

Possibly. I’ve never said what I have said is fact.

Just stated that what I’ve been told is from what I would class as a pretty reliable source who was told by Ous himself.

I then sent Ous a quick message on Instagram pretty much saying I’ve heard what’s happened keep your head up etc etc to which he replied “thank you my friend”.

So unless my source is talking bollocks and there’s a few wires been crossed then I’m personally inclined to believe him.

You guys can choose not to of course that’s entirely your call but I’m not just making something up to be a troll like some might suggest. That’s just not me.

    Things that have happened

    Fane didn't play against Doncaster

    Wellens says Fane was unavailable

Somebody posted on OWTB to say they saw Fane training, Paul Terry came over and had a word, then he left training and went to the gym

    Subsequent OWTB 'facts'

Abdallah blames Fane for us losing to Southend

Abdallah is interfering with team selection

Except I posted what I have been told before someone said they’d seen him pulled from training.

If someone can tell me how to attach screenshots without going over the file size limit I can post what I was told.

This is exactly why I don’t bother posting anything I’m told. People on here just call you a liar. It’s just not worth the hassle for trying to bring fellow fans into the picture.

If AL has pulled him out for purely footballing reasons then this is an absolute disgrace and it should be looked into.

If it’s for breach of contract or other discipline issues then so be it but I don’t like the sound of this decision going over Wellens’s head.

This is the thing for me.

At the minute we only have Fane’s side of the story and that seems to be that AL blamed him for the result on Tuesday night vs Southend.

As with anything though, there are always 2 sides to every story so would be interesting to know all the facts. We possibly never will.

Fane was training briefly on Monday. Very briefly.

He was there in training kit, headed out onto the pitch with the rest of the squad before Paul Terry seemed to tell him he wasn’t allowed to train and he was walked back to the dressing room before heading to the gym.

To be honest, he looked absolutely gutted and I felt really sorry for him.

He isn’t the most talented, but for

me his work ethic can’t be questioned. Excluded from training, but he still turned up ready to go!

Matches with what I was told mate.

    Why? Who by?

Apparently by AL. I was obviously reluctant to post it as I try and stay well away from being the guy with a source on this board and let Paddy be that guy.

Maybe he could shed some light if he’s seen anyone in the gym?

I hope the source is wrong as AL interfering with the team isn’t what any of us want but it is a fairly reliable one.
