  1. Since leaving us he's only made 9 league appearances scoring 2 goals for Bristol Rovers.

He signed for Stevenage in May and is set to start against us next Saturday.

Could he make mincemeat out of our CH pairing? A match up with JYM wouldn't have worried me but with two from Tarky / Mellor / Byrne I'm not so sure!

  2. Lee Johnson, cool, jovial but assertive.

Paul Murray, looking every bit LJ's assistant.

Bobby Mimms, Oxley's Guardian and LJ's tweeter.

John Guy, fortunately nothing to do today despite a couple of brief concerns.

Billy Quarmby, "Sidney, warm up please" ....he's now dressed like the rest of these guys and had an A4 writing pad in his hand.

Has he been formally promoted to the back room staff or has his 'work experience' been cranked up another notch?

  3. I renewed 4 in the Chaddy today for 3 adults and my 6 yr old.

Received carefully selected adult discount vouchers for the new home shirt numbered 259 -261 and my boy's was numbered 29.

Rebekah was very efficient in dealing with this.

Proceeded to club shop and pre ordered my boy's shirt @ 11.46am.

Therefore i'd have an educated guess that we had sold approximately 300 season tickets by lunchtime today, (not sure if this includes Senior Citizens or over 12's) and approximately 50 pre ordered home shirts were on the list in the shop.

I was served by a very pleasant lady named Michelle.

Both Billy (smiling happily) and Janice made fleeting appearances ( about 1 minute apart) between the two internal doors in the shop and both seemed quite relaxed!

Overall, very satisfied with today's trip to BP!

  4. If only Corney ( on Dowie's behalf ) or Dowie himself would officially rule himself out then we could all 100% move on from hoping for the appointment of the favoured one.......

The fact that neither one has, would suggest there's some truth in the rumours but the longer it drags on, the more to the detriment of everyone associated with the football club. As a result of dragging this on, the unthinkable becomes more likely and consequently imo the Dowie appointment becomes more and more less likely.

We were rudderless both on and off the pitch today and if we don't have a new manager in place before Tuesday's game then for me, we are league 1 history.

  5. Just wanted to apologise to some members after my outburst last week, ususal case of having some beer and being frstrated as hell after the Sheff Utd game.

Just wanted to clear that up as its been on my concience all this week.. So, again, I offer my humble apologies.

How do you feel after today?
  6. For the purpose of this exercise I'm going to assume that Gezza, TP, Muzza and Byrney have performed minor miracles and kept us in the division come May and that the long running saga of the new gaffer is about to be resolved!

Does anyone know exactly how many players are out of contract and which ones would you like to see accept an extension?

Cisak, Furman, Croft, Simmo, Murray, M'Voto, Smith (not sure on these last two) I think are out of contract in the summer. Of these, I'd like to see Croft, Murray (player coach role under Dowie if the rumours are to be believed) and M'Voto be givSurely TP en new deals.

I don't think Cisak and Furman see their long term future at a dilapidated, cold League one ground. Simmo has been a waste of space all year and (apart from battering that Coates kid the other week) I don't think Smith has shown enough over the last two seasons to warrant long term investment.

Surely TP and Byrney should be Phizza and Byzza?
  7. I would be delighted with the appointment of Dowie but one thing concerns me about the likelihood of this happening.

It's common knowledge that he is settled in the Bolton area.

Over the last 18 months or so managerial vacancies have occurred at Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, Bolton and Burnley.

I find it inconceivable that he wasn't approached by at least one of the above and therefore by turning them down proves his satisfaction with the easy life of the Sky Sports Microphone.

if he wanted another job in Management what more could he ask? - a decent contract at a decent ground in his own backyard guaranteed.

So we are either kidding ourselves that he would rejoin us over 'some' of the above or equally feel priveleged that he is genuinely considering an offer. If its the latter then Corney needs to do all he can to make it happen.
