Anyone remember Steve Eyre?
Dale fans certainly do, but for all the wrong reasons.
Appointed Dale manager on 13 June 2011, and by 19th December 2011 was sacked after guiding the club to 22nd place in league 2.
What were his credentials despite NOT having played a football league game?
21 years at MCFC as a 'successful' academy and youth team coach.
What did he do? - he brought young, talented MCFC players to Rochdale. Did it work? No.
What did Rochdale eventually do? Brought Back Keith Hill, one of their own tried and tested ......
DID THAT WORK?

Maybe Corney had the trots, hence why he was on the phone in the loo.....

No surprise there, he was on those free pies and hot dogs all day.

In 10 years and 343 games as a manager, he has achieved an impressive 43% win ratio!

Goalkeepers, December, Chedgate, Colchester for a Fiver, L Orient, application forms, 100 day plans, a trip to Scunny (plus other stuff we don't even know about) would suggest that not everything had bee rosy in the LJ allotment for some time......
-
Just checked Skybet.....
Dowie now 2/5 with Shefki straight into 2nd Fav at 7/2.
-
I voted for Dowie simply because his profile and experience sits at a higher level than Shez, and it should guarantee that the likes of Smalley, Trotman, Allesandra and Reid will not return to our club as they've all found their level.
Wouldn't mind Clint Hill coming back as captain though.....just to extend his career with us!

It's got to be Kangana Lord N'Diwa for me.
Fingers crossed.

[REMOVED]
Bang out of order that!

.....and spit on them!!True, Also the keepers didn't wear gloves even in the depth of winter, now they wear gloves in August.
-
Winchester still on the pitch after 84 minutes!?
How on earth was that allowed to happen!?
LJ out!
-
Jabo for me, just feels right that we should sign him given his presence, experience, and all round game. He's a sensible lad, an LJ type of player who's already had three belters for us from what I've seen.
Ideally an A Le-F type poacher as well to work off him, but,if not, securing Jabo 'till June 2016 would tick a very big box for us squad wise.
-
This is my worry!Yes, schools are off that week.
Off to Tenerife for half term, so hopefully the club will avoid rearranging the fixture for half term otherwise that's me and my little fella ruled out plus a few more families who will be disappointed on both sides....surely, the rearrangement should be geared towards achieving the best gate possible, not pis*ing off season ticket holding families who would relish this rare home fixture!
We were praised for our support at Spotland and we both sang our hearts out! PLEASE don't compromise our support for the return tie.
-
He' s recently been hit hard by the flu bug.Just a hunch, seems well out of the frame at Blackburn, can't see another Championship team being in for him and he's just the type of 'morale boost' signing that Corney seems to find the money for every now and then.

Absolute shambles from the players Forte ironoc clapping, no players coming over and when they did started calling fans
Who, specifically, was calling the fans? and take it a step further, do you know why?
-
Or will he blame his players?
As far as I'm aware he's not spoken yet. It might not be bad thing to avoid a knee jerk reaction so soon after the game given the pressures with his dad being around and that.
Maybe this time, any strong words will stay in the dressing room?
But, if he does speak to the press, I'm very interested to know what he does say after the dust has settled, and how he intends to prepare for the MKD game. He will be in shock today, as the majority of us were.
Experiences like today should help him in the future, but is he shrewd enough now to make the right calls?
-
Setting up at home against a 'struggling' team with 7 players who's primary function is to defend set the trend.
Talk about handing over the initiative before the ball is even kicked!
"Thanks son, I hope you learn a lot from today, but I'm sorry to say your naivety surprised me."

Err, thanks Cliff, suggest you just stick with the tennis m8.If you think that was us playing well today in the final 3rd you're mistaken. It'll be down to Johnson and Danny P to make way IMO.
-
....with a view to a permanent flight home?Gone charlton on loan

Scary looking stats to say they got a point.....
MKD 27 shots 11 on target
Dale 8 shots 1 on target which was their 2nd goal, 1st was an OG!
-
Colchester got a first round bye and were then beaten by Gillingham. Is Jabo available for JPT games anyway or has he played in it for Col U this season...
Jabo didn't feature in their 16 man squad.
-
Both sent off today........
Done' s was a straight red so he will be suspended next week.
Jabo's was two yellows so should be available next week as he will serve a one match ban on Tuesday night.
If I'm right, dare I say it, Done will be a big miss for them.

I could, if I wanted, get as many tickets as I'm allowed as I live just a couple of minutes away from Spotland.409 bus to Rochdale, 468 from Rochdale bus station stops outside the ground.
The same can be said for many other Latics fans I know.
So whether it's all ticket or pay on the day, there's guaranteed to be pockets of latics fans in the other 3 sides.
Good luck to them.
They have as much right as Dale fans to enter Spotland. Our money is as good as theirs.
Nobody should be ejected just for entering the ground.
This is Rochdale's problem, not ours, and they have time on their side to sort something out.

This is absolutely spot on, and they are all playing at the top of their game, bringing Forte and Jabo into play we are a real force at the moment. Got to mention Mills and Kusunga, completely different players but really work well with Winchester and Jones going forward, and have their own qualities at the back. We are currently such a well balanced side!!No we play a midfield diamond ala like Liverpool and he sits at the base playing in the Steven Gerrard role. With Winchester and jones either side with philiskirk at the head of the diamond.
The way he plays means occasionally he drops in between the centre backs to cover if they step out so we never get exposed through the centre.
Every time teams get the ball clear he is there to pick it up and we start another attack. Which means we are good at pinning teams down.
