I fckin hate Brentford. For me, they should still be a really shit team playing at a tinpot Griffin Park playing in front of one man and his dog. Fair play that they’ve been run well and established in the Prem, but playing in a packed out new stadium belting out ‘Hey Jude’ (why???) and Seven Nation Army is just Mickey Mouse plastik knobhead behaviour.

I have been to Brentford half a dozen times since they got into the Premier League. (I have a mate who is a season ticket holder)

Their new stadium, albeit small with a capacity of 17,250, is brilliantly equipped and the bars are run efficiently. The away fan allocation of 1700 is always sold out as are the home ends.

I agree that the opening song of ‘Hey Jude’ is a strange one but the atmosphere is generally pretty good.

We should be praising the club for its achievements I reckon.👍

  2. I know its been done to death on this thread, but it still makes me wonder why MM fails to get the team to play in many games.

I accept that he sets them up over defensively but I refuse to accept that he asks them to hoof the ball away at every opportunity and tells them not to shoot or cross the ball when in good positions.

I cannot fathom why he allows his teams play with no tempo when in possession, and no energy when closing down the opposition.

I find it baffling that he sees his players so often fail to compete for the second ball and win tackles, and does not manage to improve it.

Is he watching the same performances as we are?

Him saying "we go again" is wearing very thin at the moment. Sort it Mickey!

I hate this league. I hate being shit in this league. I hated being League 2. Thought it was shit compared to League 1. We were shit in League 2. I thought League 1 was pretty shit but it was actually ok. No matter what League we are in, I always think we have half decent players, but they’re not. They’re always just shit. Until they leave us like Callum Whelan or Ollie Banks. Then they look decent. Hate football. It’s shit. If we get to the play off final and win it I will love football.

You are all at a distinct advantage to me (cos I`ve only seen the last two games). Based purely on what I`ve seen there is not a snowball in hell's chance of going up because we have been dire. So, please can someone put their finger on why the last 2 games, we have looked like a mediocre amateur team? What's suddenly changed? People said to me after Woking at home that I simply had to wait and watch us stemroller Ebbsfleet away. I`m waiting... still waiting... I don't want to be negative but it's so damned hard after watching over 3 hours of utter dross.

    It’s your fault! 😉

We have 16 games to get into the play offs. We can’t afford 10 games of letting the team gel and get match fit.

MM has been in charge for 15 games. In that time we have gained 27 points from a possible 45.
If we get a similar return from the remaining 16 games, we will end up on 73 points. Will that be enough to get us into the playoffs?

Last season Borehamwood finished in 6th place with 72, Bromley one place below in 7th with 71.

    So it’s doable…

Something needs to change and quickly before this goes sour, coming out and blaming kick off times and similar shite is just fucking weak, no wonder the players come out and play like fannies when you have a manager making excuses for them like that.

His past CV will be worth squat if he doesn’t sort this out…

    I’ve gone from:

    ’in Mellon we trust! ’

    to

    ’in Mellon we trust…I suppose’

    to

    ‘In Mellon we trust?’

    to

’Mellon needs to step up and justify our trust’

Dallas came on to play behind the front 2. He signalled as much to Norwood or Garner. That’s why he dropped into midfield when out of possession.

It was a really positive start, then after about 10/15 minutes they came back into it and after that we struggled to get anything going. An early goal seems to be much needed for us as we drift if we don’t get it.

Against Barnet, Conlon seemed to come get the ball all the time. But since then he’s not done that so much. Not sure if he’s being marked out of it?

To add a bit of realism, we have just signed a number of players so it is understandable that it could take time for them all to gel.

Gained a point on Bromley and we have 10 days to work on how we play with the new lads before the next game. I’m not giving up on the season yet!

I’d bring Hogan in for McGahey and have Dallas and Garner up front. 352. I don’t think it’s fair on any of the 3 main cbs to leave them out to move to a back 4. Maybe bring Hammond into the midfield in place of Sheron.

Try and get a settled side now once the new faces are up to speed and pick up those 2 points per game for the rest of the season and be comfortably in the play offs.

Thats what I call “putting a positive spin” on it! 👍

MM’s 2.29 minute interview on the official bore all the hallmarks of < please insert >

    in a nutshell:

“we battled - clean sheet - odd time to play -  lots to work on - we move on - poor passing - gave ball away cheaply - made wrong decisions”

Sort it Mickey, because it’s depressingly familiar and simply not good enough 😱

As have all of Mellon's signings.

    This is fucking awful.

Sachdev, Conlon, Dallas have contributed nothing.

Hammond can't get on when our midfield is as bad as it is and Walker can't even make the 16.

Where are we going with this?, do they do anything on the training ground because you wouldn't think so.

    Baffling, totally baffling.

    I’m going to say it.

    I still trust Mellon.

But his football is turning more and more into Rhinoball.

Fine - but you must win. Because it’s becoming awful to watch.

    I’m going to say it.

I’m not sure that I trust Mellon.

The football is turgid but what is more worrying is that Mellon doesn’t seem to be able to get this team playing.

Another nothing team giving us the runaround.

I've defended Nuttall since his arrival to people sitting near me at BP and never booed my team or any of it's players but some footballer's attitudes don't help their cause.

What options does the ordinary fan have, when at a game, to express his/her displeasure when witnessing a horror show out on the pitch?

Watching the first half against Woking was embarrassing  - do the fans just accept it?

Maybe, instead of booing, we could adopt the white hankie approach used by Spanish fans? Or turn our backs to the pitch when the players are trooping off?

Nah… I may not boo individuals but the team as a whole are fair game…😳

The vast majority of managers rely on youth team staff to give them progress reports on the youngsters and, if they are deemed to be ready, are invited to join first team training.

I'm sure that if Atherton, or any others, are thought to be ready by our professional coaches then they will be fast tracked.

I’m sure you are right but it does seem strange that, given the opportunity to see the players first hand and in a competitive game, more choose not to 🤔
