  1. Form Table huh? Let’s take a look at the last six games P6, Won 2, Drawn 2, Lost 2 Points 8 - Form Table 13th That’s bottom half of the table form I think…
  2. I think that you and many others are missing the point of the growing frustration. We don’t expect Melon to ‘revolutionise a club and its identity in a matter of months’ We don’t compare ‘fifth division football and what is possible to elite level football’ All we are asking for is a team that can do the basics at this level - you know stuff like ‘trap a ball’, ‘pass to a team mate’, play with energy, be first to second balls, not panic and boot the ball away at every opportunity, maybe play through the midfield and have more than three attempts on target in 90 minutes at home against a team in the bottom four. Ordinary stuff like that.
  3. I’d like to be playing well and safely ensconced in the playoff positions
  4. He brought in Sachdev to play rwb - not in the squad yesterday He has Sutton who can play there - not in the squad yesterday. If only Lundstram had scored when through on goal…
  5. The above posts sum up how I feel about the playing side of the club at the moment. I do not accept the lazy justification that some continue to trot out - namely that Melon has inherited bad players and we should judge him when he’s allowed to bring in his own footballers. He has brought in six and how’s that going? It is a collective responsibility I know but it’s down to Melon to change the absolute dross we are witnessing at home - quite simply I am sick of it
  6. Perhaps - though we have had a few poor away performances under Mellon: Fylde, Newport plus a smash ‘n’ grab victory at Dorking and two limited performances at Ebbsfleet and York. We are bafflingly poor at home and it’s a collective failing that cannot continue
  7. He is failing. That performance today was another horror show. Every single team that comes to BP are better coached, show more energy and work harder than we do. The team look afraid to play - constantly getting rid of the ball and giving it away, Yet again basic skills and decision making seem to disappear when the opposition put us under any pressure. The players have to take responsibility but so does the manager. His recruitment has been poor and his tactics and motivation are poor. He is failing.
  8. We had eight attempts and scored three - so all good yes But not good at York though… if we’d had eight attempts who knows we may have scored more than one. The point is that we do not have nearly enough shots in a game … oh for the halcyon days of Dickenson and Tollitt having shots from distance… Now… that Sheron bloke can hit the ball sweetly…
  9. And have a few more attempts on goal… only 8 at Maidenhead half that number at York
  10. We had 4 tickets left out of a 1500 allocation. Halifax is a lot nearer.
  11. Melon’s response is bollox in my opinion. Asked by The Oldham Times about Reid's absence, Latics boss Mellon said: "I have the group that I'm working with and I'll continue to do that. Bollox.
  12. It's been blown up out of all proportion for me - so he said 'What the Fuck are we doing here?' when asked to come in on Xmas day - hardly an earth shattering crime is it? He was disciplined but should be brought back in to the first team squad - Melon is overreacting in my opinion and its costing the team.
  13. And that shows what an ordinary league this really is and what we could achieve with more consistency.
  14. Melon has brought in six players since he took over. Three of them: Dallas, Walker & Sachdev were not even in the squad last night (the first two have hardly featured since joining). A fourth player, Hammond, was hauled off after 52 minutes. Garner played last night but seemed to spend most of the game either on his arse or embroiled in niggling altercations. Conlon was average at best and doesn’t seem to trust his right foot… Melons tactics, and the way he set up last night, were baffling. He also only used one of his three available substitutes - why? And there was no striker on the bench too - the Reid situation needs sorting. The standard of football and style of play was desperate last night - horrible football. Oh… and we still got a point
  15. Two good posts. Although we worked hard, our play tonight was one dimensional and predictable. Too many had poor games - and for the majority of the game, our midfield was bypassed again by our insistence on lumping the ball forward aimlessly. York were fairly basic too which meant a turgid and uninspiring game. We got a point which was about all we deserved. I’m not sure why MM only made one change and, with injuries to Norwood, Walker and Dallas, I’m thinking it’s time that Reid was given a chance. Horrible game of football tonight.
  16. This is another example of how poor the standard of football can be at this level - pretty it ain’t
  17. We’ve not got going - no control in midfield - the ball has been in the air a lot and not much football being played so far Too many niggling fouls and no real chances for either side either.
  18. Dropping Green to the bench is slightly perplexing but maybe MM is not confident enough in his team to play two out and out wide attackers? Kitching had to come back in and will push forward on the left and Sutton will get forward on the right but is obviously preferred over Green because of his defensive qualities.
