  1. I'm in a bit of a pickle with this one. I'm in Bristol on the Friday night for works' xmas do and staying over. My options for getting back to London are a train at 8am or wait til 11 for a coach that everyone else is getting. For the former I might as well not go to bed and the latter would get me back to town too late to go to the game.

Even with a kip on the train I'm likely to be asleep before kick off. But I really wanna go to the Bree Louise!

    Get the train!!!!

So The Bree Louise at midday for a couple, a reasonable train to Bletchley (1313?) then back to The Bree Louise after the game. Beginning to sound like a promising day out

  2. They have events... actual organisation has been fundamentally against OASIS policy since before I even joined. We'd never fit in.

And when they've posted their time for said event there's no message board on which 10 other people can propose a different location and/or time and thus cause utter confusion!

I'll bet they even turn up on time and see these "events" kick off. Pah!

  3. Am just about to purchase match tickets. What we saying about train times to Bletchley....?

Quickest route OUT is 36 mins....

    OUT 11:13 ARR 11:39

    OUT 12:13 ARR 12:39

BACK 17:46 ARR 18:27 [41 mins] - Bit tight this one, what with that long walk across ASDA's carpark!?!

alternatively there are trains at 18:27; 18:52; 19:27; 19:52 which are all 50 odd min journeys.

    Meeting pub is the Enigma.

Given there aren't any decent pubs between the station and the ground, I think this game offers us the chance for a Christmas tipple in either The Euston Tap or Bree Louise. Any thoughts? Could get a slightly later train (even the 1313) and have a nicer pint first!

  4. OASIS rules.

    1. ALWAYS drink green lager on public transport to the game

    2. Never watch kick-off

    3. Never watch half-time whistle

    4. Never watch the second half kick-off

    5. ALWAYS stay till the full-time whistle

Our initiation clearly didn't work here. I'm so disappointed. I think we'll have to ensure the rules are chanted canonically all the way to Bletchley and back...

  5. ....don't think you'll need to buy a ticket in advance as their stadium is way too big for them.... however we did have an issue last year when the ticket office ran out of paper to print the ticket on.... we nearly missed KO as a result.

Kick offs are overrated. If they'd done something to mean you missed the final whistle, I would understand your concern...

I'm happy to get whichever train out and will come back when we've had enough. If I remember rightly, its quite cheap on the London Midland trains to Bletchley so no real reason to buy in advance...

Do we have to get match tickets? There's normally a little ticket office next to the away end.

  7. I'm in for MK. The crapness of the town and limited range of pubs is never a barrier to getting smashed.

The family may or may not join depending on the weather. MK has some sentimental value (a true oxymoron...) as I met the Mrs at the tail end of a long and thirsty day that had featured the 6-2 drubbing

I think thats the day I have a memory of you eating a whole Asda rotisserie chicken during the walk across the car park back to the pub...

  8. Then the hungover 5-0 at Hereford

One of the worst days to be a Latics fan. So much hope and optimism. We were third, they were second bottom, and we had beaten them 4-0 at home just 3 months earlier.

Instead we were 4-0 down before half time. We have fans fighting in the stand. We never really recovered after that game that year.
