  1. I can feel the poisonous clouds lifting from around the club already.
  2. Why is it that every other team that brings a striker on loan the day before a game benefits from him scoring in it. Seems to happen to all teams except ours... or is that just paranoia creeping in?
  3. Christ, 100+ posts responding to a chap who wanted some info on local pubs, and I still don't think he's got an answer! Greetings Dutch Latic, if you do enter one of the local hostelries on your visit (White Hart, Old Grey Mare etc..) be sure to be wearing clogs and carrying a large bunch of tulips to assuage the suspicious minds of the locals as to your true nationality.
  4. I've got the lot from 88-98 buried in a draw somewhere, saddo that I am! Sadly manboobs now prohibit the wearing of said garments
  5. Excellent PR move, couldn't do better, however I feel a little uneasy from a football perspective. I hope he's been keeping up to speed in his three years without a management appointment, I'd hate it to be a 'Kevin Keegan' type situation. Good luck Joe and all the best Shez.
  6. Thought Taylor had a bit of a shocker to be honest, ran up too many blind alleys without knowing (or having the skill) how to get out of them. Lewis looked quite sharp. be nice if he got a run in the side.
  7. Also content with a point but glad Leeds didn't bring their A-game. A couple of things that seemed obvious from watching the game: i) Whenever we got possession their were at least two Leeds guys in the face of our man which led to the ball being given away a lot whereas when they got possession we backed off and backed off until we were at the edge of our box. Thankfully their passing was woeful. ii) Why when we had so many attacking throw-ins weren't there more players moving about and looking for space. This also applied to free kicks. Our guys seemed statuesque whenever there was a set play which again turned over the ball a lot. However I'll take four points from two games against Millwall and Leeds. When does the bidding start on the shirts?
  8. That was the one when he positioned himself near the corner flag attempting to save a one on one was it not?

    OWTP!?

All we need now is to ask Bendtner of Arsenal where he gets his pink boots and we'll have the full ensemble!
  11. Officials need to be disciplined! Deserved to win the game!
  12. Extremely impressed with that performance. We were the better side for most of the match even with 10 men. Played effective pass and move football in the first half and defended well. Had a ropey 10 minute spell before half time but recovered well and ended up deserved of the three points in my opinion. Still, I don't think I've sweated so much watching a game in my life! Well played boys... I'm off to wring out my t-shirt!
  13. I wonder which PR guru wrote the four descriptions next to the shirts. They've obviously been to the American school of nauseating advertising!
  14. I only hope that if we do sell him we can get 1M+ in order to cover the losses and give a bit of cash to Shez to find a replacement. Hopeful but not expectant.
  15. This is the third season for Shez and the signs of stability one might expect are nowhere to be seen. It seems there is some sort of disruption within the club that smacks of the manager not having the respect of his players.
  16. And the reality of the situation is that we broke even last season by having a good cup run and selling a player in January. This season without that cup run and with average/poor attendances it seems fairly logical that we'll have to sell.
  17. Those quotes did seem to imply that he'd been told 'Win this cup match or we'll have to sell our best asset'
  18. 'I'm told by a reliable sauce' I always thought Daddies was quite a reliable sauce, not sure what it's thoughts on the chaddy end are though.
  19. Just came across this on another forum. Anyone else heard anything? Quote:-Rumours are rife here in sunny Blackpool that Andy Morell is signing for Oldham in the summer. He's a good player from what I have seen of him. Anything to report from sunny Oldham?
  20. "it was just a shame that some of his touches/passes were not read by the rest of the team" Agree with this quote totally. A few of our players seem to lack footballing intelligence on the pitch, by which I mean they make a pass or see a long ball upfield and then stand there looking at how the play will develop around them. The lack of mobility and creativity for the first 75 minutes of yesterdays game was a touch worrying, though after Millwall scored we looked like a different team.
  21. Why is that do you think AMO? Are our expectations too high after last season or are we all so starved of success that we are finally losing patience? I must admit, I've never felt an atmosphere like that at Boundary Park before.
  22. Yesterday was my first game at Boundary Park this season and I was staggered by the moribund atmosphere surrounding the whole place. The crowd were morose from before the kick-off and as the first half progressed which was admittedly poor the general atmosphere degenerated into an air of unbelievable negativity and by half time it felt like the grim reaper was ready to salvage some suicidal souls! I worry a little as it seems to be a bit of a vicious circle. The standard of football doesn't lift the crowd and the crowd doesn't lift the spirits of the players when the standard of the football is poor.
