Until Taylor is fit the left is where Whittaker should play. Cracking first half and gives us the chance to put someone who is willing to tackle (:censored:) in the middle. Far more effective out wide even though he not likely to get down the wing and whip in crosses. Best option we have for the left wing in my opinion and get Smalley back out wide.
whitts and smalley on the wing, brooke and the heff up front.

I think the club would be reasonably happy with that. I know it isnt a massive crowd but it was a much better atmosphere, decent performance, result... Even if only to lift the gloom around the club it was a positive exercise.
Improved product on the pitch will get those people coming back for more.

It was nice to come away from BP feeling positive, it has been too long a wait!

Corney isn't perfect but I think his heart is still with the Latics.
Nowt wrong with a bit of piss taking though I must admit

Do I want an 15k-20k quarter/half filled stadium or do I want a 10k-12k stadium that doesnt look empty every week but can expand if needed down the line? Option 2 for me all day long.
I'd rather have the 11/12k stadium, but it needs to have an element of uniqueness... I don't want it to be dull and lifeless looking if I'm intending to go there every other saturday afternoon.

If we build a ground with no character like Colchester then I'm afraid I shall not be bothering travelling to Failsworth to watch the club play. I hate little tin pot souless grounds like that and to me it would be a slap in the face in terms of what they think the club means to the fans. This Stadium will represent our club for the next 50 years, so if our ground isn't upto standard I assume were happy being a lower league club forever.
I agree with this.

All you have to do is look at the squad tonight and you can see that he's limited with the talent he has to work with. Ideally parker, smalley and colbeck would be on the bench at most! Once we get Tays, Pav, Holdsworth back we'll be scoring, in the mean time we need to find the goals from somewhere.
-
If we can get everybody fit I'm sure we can get some wins under our belt. It's poor first touches from the likes of Colbeck and Smalley that let us down tonight, swap them with Taylor and Abbott and we'll have a chance of creating chances without them breaking down so easily.
-
he had a great game tonight, sign him up!

Flahavan is a big improvement on Brill.

I've been in favour of the move since the beginning and this piece reinforces that.

I was loving the fact that they played Trash by The Whip, they're local lads and a great band. The lead singer's dad supports Latics as far as I'm aware. Mouldy Old Tat can chuff off!
We need to cut out the nonsense before kick off, its irritating.

as we all know there are a lot of moaners on here but if we were at the top of the table like last year these people would still be moaning so its good that the majority of us dont pay them much attention. I'm not sure how many people use this board but im sure its only a 5th of the four to five thousand fans we get at home games. Most probabley not even that. I was just wondering how this board affects the club, how much notice is taken, do any of the players or staff read it. Is there any way the board could damage the club?
Also can some one just tell me if the team travel to games like bristol over night?? or do the set off early in the morning?
(got distracted half way through that and ended up typing something a bit different from what the title suggests)
I really cannot see how Beckford's Right Foot / Royle Army / Corp Jones et al think they are helping the club by trying to demoralise the clubs fan base. I believe only a small percentage log on regularly, but the players and staff may well come on here to see a minority of people slagging them off, which cannot be doing much good for the club.

Latics is my club. It's deep within my soul and as such it's so precious to my core. Hence why no matter what good people do it's only good until tomorrow's ill.
However, let me share what one of TTA once did for me and I believe this shines an inner light into these guys. Years ago now via jklatics it become known I was going to New York for the first time visiting. The next time I attended BP was for a reserve fixture and on passing the one amigo he asked about my forth coming trip. He asked had I planned to go to a baseball game whilst there. As it turned out at that point I hadn't, but he said they had tickets to the Mets and if I emailed him with the dates and hotel I was staying at I was welcome to the Mets tickets.
Upon arrival at the hotel I was given said tickets to the Mets game along with the following nights tickets to the Yankies. Tell me one other club where that would happen?
I will never forget that.
I couldn't name one.
TTA have shown dynamism, openess, commitment and have backed every manager the best they could. Long may it continue as I believe the club is in safe hands under their tenure.

This story is very random but awesome.
I think Oldham Athletic could become a cult favourite in the USA, keep up the good work girls!

Am losing my faith with him now give him couple of more games if he fails i want him out sorry to say.
he has not brought a central def in thats the main problem we got.
Sit down and shut up.
-
The question is worded in a biased manner. I still voted yes.
BP is crumbling away as we speak, we need to move.
-
Im glad he's sticking with his policy of buying players who are hungry for success and are on their way up. Sounds like a good signing, will have to see how he does. Furman has made the step up, no reason why this guy can't.
Would have liked a centre half, but don't we have a hungarian CB who is supposed to be good?
-
People are lining him up for abuse already and it is only a few weeks into the season.
Its pathetic, give the guy some time to prove himself.
-
I still think DP has a bit of wheeling and dealing to do. Lee ( 3 touches today, the 1st he messes up, the 2nd he miscontrols for a goal kick and the 3rd he puts in a poor cross and scores ) has already been told he can go and I think that Lomax and Whittaker will follow if the manager can sort out moves for them.
I think Whittaker still has a future at the club, he is a real threat coming off the bench.
-
We played some decent stuff today, I think they will come back eventually.
-
In reflection it's disappointing, but the performances are there, we are creating chances and if we can tighten up the leaking at the back we will be okay in the long run.
I think we played well today. We dominated the midfield with :censored: and Worthington, the full backs and strikers had good games, the defence was pretty solid on the whole. Brill and Hazell will cost us points all season if we don't replace them.
Robbed.
-
As long as we show more commitment and fight than we did last season, when after november most of the players looked like they wanted to be tucked up in bed, I'll be happy.
-
This isnt a criticism of the Webmaster, but every other club has manager interviews online, why are we the only club who haven't.
Too right.
I demand an answer NOW!
