I think Smalley is faster, more skillful and has a better eye for goal than Davies. Davies will never find his form sitting on the bench so send him to County, let them get him back into shape, and see where we stand from there.

I like the way we're daring enough to try for players like Windass. I have been well impressed with our transfer policy of late.

For me Lomax has to be dropped, he has been decent defensively but the guy can't pass to save his life. In our current starting 11 he's the most obvious weak link IMO, with this being highlighted by the massive difference a ball-playing and run-making full back like Daniel Jones can have on the way the team plays. Eard's to take Lomax's place tomorrow along with Davis for Ormerod.

Shez has built his own side, is seeing some success, has the backing of the fans and the board, and loves oldham.

The Playmaking Full Back.

Davies played well today, was unlucky not to get on the score sheet, linked up with Taylor nicely out wide. Definite started for next week for me.
Seconded.

ive got a close mate coming on saturday, im going halves on the ticket due to a certain person's employment status!
does the club do a student discount on matchday tickets?

Eardley is been a top player for us. I know he can send some passes flying into the stands but he's a great athlete and has been brought up through the youth team, here's to another 100 Neil!
-
overall im pleased that the place is abit more lively, so if theres more swearing and standing then so be it!

Taken from the Rochdale fans site...
We spent much of that period trying to mark our own stewards, until we realised it wasn't an Oldham player trying to kick someone out for standing. Not even the excuse "it looks good with jeans" could pass for the abomination of a kit that our visitors were wearing.

Crossley, legend!
Is Davies banner now?
crossley was truely on form tonight, what a legend.
-
Tonight he didnt chase one ball .. nor did he try or win anything in the air, and when he did have the ball he was easily pushed off.
I can't believe all this is coming from a player who has just signed a contract extension with us. He should be fully focused on giving 100% in the latics shirt.

10. We've got the best atmosphere at Boundary Park we've had for years.
11. Ticket prices havn't gone up.
12. We've just signed the biggest sponsorship deal in the clubs history.

the worry is that if the opposition do their homework they will target our left side as a point of weakness. two right footers on the left isnt great.
-
it didnt exactly get my heart racing, the first two minutes of football did though!
-
i didnt see what most people saw today obviously.
im sorry mate but you must be blind.
-
I think he proved alot of doubters wrong today.

I believe in miracles.

i dont think it was josh bell mate, it was a youth team goalie.
nobody staked a big claim tonight apart from maybe Smalley.

Everyone gets over optimistic at the start of the season, but based on the (what looks like) improvements to the squad we have now I think top 6 is a good target.
Lomax doesn't inspire me with confidence, we have to get a new left back or teams will exploit and punish us in that area.

Tonight against Hull, the teams came out to Seven Nation Army. Then when on the pitch Mouldy Old Dough was played briefly. The players were then brought back into a line for the hand-shake malarkey like they have in the Greedy League - this will provide Gregan with a chance to break a few fingers for starters.
During the half-time break Guns of Navarone was played at length and then it was played when we scored. When the teams came out for the second half, Seven Nation army was played again.
So despite the poll result leading to an opportunity for us to have unique music, it seems that Seven Nation Army will feature greatly, just as it will at many grounds, copying the Euro 2008 example.
I say hats off to the Latics management for having better taste than the majority of Latics fans. Im sorry if I upset a few on here but MOD is cringe worthy.

i can see wolfy and possibly black being loaned out at the start of the season.
-
Fair point. Is it too late to scrap this poll then?

Reeves looked like our own mini-Batistuta when on loan, then as soon as he had a contract he did **** all!
Maybe we could make up our own crap-signings worst XI?
Goram (2nd time round)
Clegg
Mark Arber
Thommo!
Terrible Forbes
Wayne Gill
Richard Butcher
Craig Rocastle

Will the signing of Andy Cole be another Michael Ricketts moment?
