  1. Not much you can do with 2 to 3 defenders around you...….the game doesn't produce "dribblers" any more.
  2. Not sure you can blame Maouche for the lack of movement in front of him. All that's left is to go sideways.
  3. Bit like playing Lang on the left but on Saturday against Doncaster Branger tied up 2, sometimes 3 defenders. Many managers play lefties on the right and vice-versa.
  4. Have to disagree here.....he is less than half the player he once was and I don't see the determination to change that. Maouche rarely lost or gave the ball away cheaply...….you could play Baxter in every game between now and the end of the season and he still wouldn't, in my opinion, influence the game even if you could get more than 60 mins. out of him which is highly unlikely.
  5. Gave myself half an hour to reflect on a game we should have won. Substitutions baffled me.....Scylla was controlling central midfield with Missilou and helping to move the ball forward comfortably which all turned to sh*t when Baxter came on. There was a lot of criticism of Vera and his lack of mobility but that went downhill when O'Grady came on.....the only time he ran was after the final whistle. Vera got himself into position for 3 half-chances...….he is horrendously unfit and I get the impression he is struggling to see how he can fit into this team. As for the final substitution, We should have brought Hunt on at LB for Lang and moved Branger to RW and Nepo to LW. Oh, and the officials were useless.
  6. Bit like automatically getting a penalty when you put your hand up......daft comment....there is a rule book to follow otherwise it's anarchy... ANARCHY I tell you!!!
  7. Don't think cushioned seats would help!!!
  8. 10 miles away from ground and nothing yet. Dark Sky weather app says rain at 8.00 and light snow at 10.00.
  9. The talks between AL and PS have been ongoing for a couple of weeks and I have no doubt there has been a lot of arm-wrestling. The fact that at this late stage, PS has not walked away is positive in so far that PS will have demanded a number of assurances to move forward such as, I'm guessing here, the much debated chairman interference, limiting the role of the sporting director and ensuring that there is capacity for improving/increasing the squad. What we don't know is if AL has shown any resistance to these demands or if he has simply accepted them as a price worth paying to increase the profile of the club.
  10. Looking at who's likely to be in the starting line-up……..Edmundson looks to be getting the armband. Unless AL insists on Branger getting the gig (joke...JOKE...FFS.....don't want heads cracking open and yolk spilling out!!!).
  11. But we will still only get one version (the club won't issue it's own version, just a rebuttal) and will it be accurate or will it have a hefty coat of Gerradism…...I suspect the truth will be flip-flopping in between. I look at a professional like Clarke who doesn't make waves and is still here and appears to be settled.
  12. Can't argue with the second half of what you said...…..but both Gerrard and Davies have form with other clubs when they haven't got their own way.
  13. What is it for tickling a goalie's ribs???
  14. I can't get my head round any football club flogging "Spinach & Ricotta" pies!!!
  15. Sarcasm doesn't always come across...….I think I'm guilty of being a grumpy old b*stard and being up for a verbal fight with everybody!!!
  16. Ok....I haven't seen the first yellow card anywhere. But has it been a confirmed double yellow or a straight red?
  17. You do realise that you are going to make a number of OWTB contributors go through a "p^ss-boil" moment with that comment because they want AL to fail more than Latics/Scholes to succeed!!!
  18. Nonsense...….simplistic view...…...I still say he was subject to a barge by a Donny player.
  19. He gets hit sideways as going upwards and you don't jump upwards with your arms at your side...…..these, and the fact that Clarke is not the sort of player to deliberately attempt to handle the ball. makes me take the view it was just poor decision making by the officials. He is guilty of the "dig" at the goalkeeper and rightly got a yellow card but when did he receive his first? And why is the incident being reported as a straight red when the ref clearly waves a yellow then red? As I said. poor officiating.
  20. Maybe, and it's a crazy thought, that other coaches and managers might know a bit, change that, sh*t loads more than you. Lyden was unfit when he came and turned out to be useful, if somewhat injury prone.....same with Maouche and Missilou and both have turned out to be essential starters. Let's see if the backroom staff can do something with him first before writing him off.
