  1. We couldnt score at this stage last season and it took until we played Forest in September for things to take off. Theres higher expectations after what happened last season but this is essentially a new team and it will take time for Shez to sort out the line up with most cutting edge. Plus we are making the chances, just need to stick them away. Strikes me that neither Davies nor Ricketts are natural goalpoachers but I know a certain someone who is!
  2. hope he has got a driver, would be a fairway to come otherwise
  3. Cos they got thumped by Hereford last night. Alarm bells must be ringing in cider drinking country, although they probably were before the season started.
  4. Maybe unlikely but we have done remarkably well at getting TV games in both cups over the last few seasons which has provided much needed revenue. Ok, mainly this is down to luck but you have to be still in it. Personally, i would like to see us put up a strong line up against Mansfield. There's still work to be done on match fitness, to experiment and gel the team and for Shez to work out what his strongest line up looks like. I would start with Davies - pace scares most teams and then if all is going well, bring on subs to close the game out.
  5. All the noises from Shez is that he intends to play 4 in midfield, at least at the start of the season. Its also an option to have KK play on the right and give Liddell a breather every now and again.
  6. Well done KK! Sure it would have been more lucrative to go to a Championship club. Expectations for the season just went up another notch.
  7. Gutted but not surprised hes gone. Thought hed go to a lower Championship club. Get the feeling Richie would rather be a big fish in a small pond and after his move to Donny, does he really want to play in the Championship like he says?
  8. Not a chance that we will have both KK and Richie in the squad next season, I would be very happy with one of them!
  9. The rarely wrong Chron says we are pursuing a vastly experienced striker. Now I thought Berger was definitely a midfielder, so does that mean we are after a top class frontman as well? Unless someones got there wires crossed!
  10. Havent got a clue how we could afford him?!! Is this intended to be Richie's replacement then?
  11. Did anyone else expect a story about the fast food giant when they saw the headline?! One or two surprises?.....well im definitely shocked
  12. Initial reaction to the QPR rumour is that it could well have some truth. Lots of recent events and announcements could point in that direction. Also, arent the 3 amigos businesses mainly US/London based - another reason why a London club would seem attractive.
  13. Gutted that im gonna miss Forest away for the 2nd successive season and also looks like no sunny seaside away day At least the Xmas/New Year line up looks good
  14. Was shocked that I managed to survive four overs of spin unscathed. Just cant seem to break into the 200+ club
  15. There should be a bonus for scores without loss!
  16. Cheers for that. Would have joined you but was lucky enough to get a ticket at the last minute
  17. Not sure whether I entirely imagined this but I thought there was something slightly different about Richie's applause for the fans at the end of the game today - almost an air of saying goodbye. Maybe I imagined it - i hope not. On the Gregan debate, who was partly at fault for today's first goal? He catches the eye because he's so casual sometimes but he has made several mistakes over recent months which have cost us very sloppy goals. Still got enough quality to do a good job in this division though.
  18. Thanks Mark. Sounds good, the more the merrier as far as im concerned and the more chance we got of stopping them switching over to ManU!
  19. Thanks for the info GFBunn. Never been to the Sports Cafe so not familiar with how it works but dont sound good if they are gonna kick you off at half-time. More generally, im worried that everywhere will be showing all the pre-match ManU guff. Still havent found anywhere that promises to show the whole game.
  20. Of the 2007 team only Eardley, Wellens, Taylor and Porter would make it into my 11 but id rather watch the 2007 team and stick with Shez over Dowie. Looking at the stats, this season F69 A47 and in 2003 F68 A38 - I'm actually surprised the difference is that small.
  21. If the rumours are true about Will leaving, we'll need to find someone with a celebrity spouse! Any ideas?
  22. Agree with all your sentiments SW. I think you always question the motives of people when they take over a football club cos it surely can't be for the money! The three amigos are real football fans. They seem to be genuine and open about whats going on and realistic with their aims. I think some of their statements have been pretty spot on and it looks like they are here for the long term despite not receiving the support they deserve from the Oldham public. We are very lucky to have these guys at our club.
  23. Are any Tics who cant make the game on Sat watching in pub?
  24. If the Oldham public would have come out and supported the team and filled the ground when the club tried the promotions around Xmas or even last week against Chesterfield, then I reckon the club would have only given them the small part of the RRE. As it is, I think the decision is justified even if it means that I may end up struggling to get a ticket.
