  1. Gills 3 - Southend (Heading for League 2) 0 So just 4th from bottom now to avoid!
  2. Would prefer Tranmere as its a bit more local! Gills sound very good today (unfortunately)
  3. All the bottom 3 losing (I have discounted Stockport) .... Thats can only be a bonus for Latics Point at Huddrsfield would be a great result and would still have a game in hand.
  4. Unfortunately it will be Stockport, Wycombe, Tranmere and Southend! A win on the 24th will confirm Oldham are safe and drop Southend into League 2! No trip to Boundary Park for me next season and I will miss out on Rochdale too! At least I have Gigg Lane locally!
  5. We have been in Rushcroft in the past and I know the FA are delivering in Schools through their Tesco skills programme We have lots of competition including City who are going in and unfortunatley their is little we can do except keep trying to get schools and making sure they have a positive experience meaning they get us in again. We would love to be in every school and are tyring which is including us overhauling our schools programme but like anything this needs to be paid for. With schools budgets being cut and with some schools simply not liking football its just not possible. Like you I hate seeing all the City and United shirts (we get them on our Holiday Soccer Schools) but we are working on this with the club with the Super Sevens initiative which has seen around 200 7 year olds get Oldham Shirts with another 100 by the end of the season. Plans are to extend this even further next season!
  6. Leave our Barrett alone.... As goals are a precious resource you could always sign Spencer or Vernon...
  7. Would have to agree with that although a few more goals would reinforce that fact
  8. Almost forgot... readng the Chronicle with interest on the proposed link between the School and Manchester City!
  9. This is in no way as an attempt to discredit you Mr Seaside or trip you up, Glad to hear it! Same old stuff really.... Schools coaching, Help for Heroes, Kickz project, trawling the internet for new on SUFC (ooops), Kick and cook with Latics programme, Street Cheer, Sport Relief, Sorting Holiday programmes at different venues across Oldham(Discount available to Boundary Blues), and working out whether to work on the 10th for the Super Sevens/Grassroots Club day at BP or make the short trip over to Leeds to watch SUFC suffer a heavy defeat as Leeds are due to hammer someone very soon, player visits, Educational days, Finalising Alans Apprentice programme, Building up my shrine to ex Shrimpers who play for Latics (Maher and Flahavan have pride of place) and generally not a lot else!
  10. Just did the same with a slightly different perspective and with Oldham winning the game on the 24th, Oldham are safe on 50 points and SUFC relegated on 45... Then rejigged the game on the 24th with Latics and Southend sharing a 2 - 2 draw thanks to goals from Scott Spencer and Vernon cancelling out early strikes for Abbott and Taylor and Tranmere go down instead on goal difference.... Happy days! However it works out you fancy it going to the last day with 2 from 6 in contention! My feeling is it will be Stockport, Wycombe, Gillingham and Tranmere/Southend
  11. I have to say I am a little confused. I come on OWTB for a couple of reasons.... The first being a football fan to discuss life in League One with the supporters of a club that after Southend I have developed a real liking for! Secondly to hear what fans of Oldham think about the club, games etc so I can try and ensure that what we do in the Community programme helps the club and fans (for example the half time entertainment) The majority of my posts have been to discuss football and the situations our two clubs are in, very rarely using OWTB for works purposes. If I do have something to go on hear then usually I will ask one of the OWTB crew to post it. As someone rightly pointed out this is a fans message board and I am on here as a fan of SUFC, football and Oldham Athletic to an extent! I take on board what you have said about the name but at the end of the day it is who I am. Does the fact I am a Southend fan mean that I dont do my job at Oldham Athletic any less well..... No! I am committed, with members of my team in the Community programme, to wanting Oldham Athletic to have the best Community Programme in the country. If we cant win trophies on the pitch in the near future then I would like to hope that we can win them for some of our off the field activities. As I said I am here to talk about football and life in League One! Lets just hope that we are both here next season... my view is one of us wont be and I have a horrible feeling that come 25th April as I run (and I use the term 'run' very loosely) round London as Chaddy the Owl, in that boig brown furry head I will be calling all of you everyname under the sun for relegating SUFC.... However come the end of the run and the Monday morning I will be back at my offices in my OAFC tracksuit thinking how good it is Oldham are safe and I will still be looking at how OAFC can be the best in the conutry for community work!
  12. I think its fair to say Stockport are gone so which 3 clubs are going to join them?
  13. On the point about half time entertainment there are plans for something to take place next season which will involve our younger fans! Any other ideas warmly welcomed Colin Community Manager OACT
  14. Dear Oldham Supporter, Supporters Direct have commissioned some research, undertaken by Substance, on the community roles of football clubs. As part of this we are conducting a very short questionnaire about the perceptions supporters have about their club and its local community. The questionnaire shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes to complete and is open until 27th November. The research will report in early 2010. All responses are anonymous and no personal information will be stored. Please help this important research by clicking Survey
  15. Maybe Flavs was brought in to try Brill up front? I will get my coat!
  16. Definitely. Can line up a wall though ;o) I like Brill and think this 'competition' for his place might be just the threat he needs to keep him on his toes!
  17. Flavs is a qaulity keeper. He causes one or two heart stopping moments on crosses but when it comes to shot stopping, we all thought and many agreed, that he was the best outside the prem! First Maher, now Flavs.... Just Freddy Eastwood and Adam Barrett to go and you have had all my recent years favourites!
  18. Oldham Athletic's futsal team today qualified for the FA Northern division for Futsal. This means the Oldham Athletic are officially one of the top 24 futsal teams in the country! Season kicks off in the new year with games on a Sunday at our new home venue of Oldham Sports Centre. Will be tough but no reason why in a couple of years we can be knocking on the door for UEFA cup qualification! This also marks another first for Oldham Athletic by being the first professional club in the country to have a futsal team playing in the national league! Once season is up and running we will post details of fixtures etc on here and also on official site and would be great to get a few Latics fans along to support the side!
  19. Really surprised by the Rochdale options.... I could never watch Col Ewe! Well if any of you have 2.1 million spare give me a shout and I dont have to worry about who I would follow should the worst happen Should it happen then Latics would be my choice!
  20. In the event that Oldham were to cease existing which team would you follow for your football fix?
