Fresh manager. Young team. A hell of a lot of attitude on the pitch.
It's a good starting point.
agree 100% the club and players are/have done there bit now its down to the fans

The last time I remember there being a real atmosphere at BP would of being under Dowie... I can't remember a game since which I would say had a proper atmosphere...
we all know whats wrong, but the problem is how to put it right
-
The football is more enjoyable this season but the atmospheres around the ground is still just as negative as usual, the constant moans groans and boos around me was depressing when we were 1 - 0 down to Bournemouth last weekend, its things like that which stop me going so much now. The team are not even allowed to be 1 - 0 down or sometimes even 0 - 0 for the slating to start.
I don't live in Oldham but in my 15 years or so of going the games I get the impression that everyone is getting more miserable? A few years ago people could have a laugh and the expectations were never this high, its sad:(
spot on was having the same chat on saturday there is no atmosphere at all and as you say all moans and groans the crowd only bucked up when we scored and got behind the team, now surely people can understand that we need that support from kick off and not just when we score, the football is better and having a good sing and cheering on the lads makes for a far more enjoyable day than just sitting there listening to others moaning

i,m going, can,t wait i reckon we can beat them

Can people stop slating Taylor for cutting inside and some are then saying he doesn't want the ball. If he didn't want the ball he'd stay out wide all the time. Plus, I've said this before and I'll keep saying it, if Taylor stays out wide he scores a fraction of the goals he does get- we'd have lost 5-1 last weekend for example.
Their goal wasn't a FK but I still think its Brill's fault, yes it was right in the corner but it wasn't in the top corner, it looked like he was caught cheating and trying to make it easier for him to come for the cross. He then couldn't get his feet right and so couldn't jump for a ball that looked like it was within his reach if he had done. I think the booing of him is an absolute disgrace though, only one person on here has admitted that they booed and it was more than that. Brill didn't seem to get his wall right for the FK which hit the post either, I was in the Chaddy but to me it looked like the wall was too far over to my left (so brill's right) making it easier to go round the wall to the left. But if he was a Premier League goalie he'd be playing in the Premier League, most goalies at this level have a weakness and maybe Brill's is free kicks.
My dad thought Mvoto was MOTM and wasn't that impressed with Tounkare but I thought Tounkare had a decent game. Alessandra was the difference today (those who said Taylor looked better on the right do you think that was because the opposition had to worry about Alessandra on the left, similar to how they had to worry about Hughes 2 years ago).
I was impressed with Kieran Lee again today, he took his goal very well, if Feeney is going to be out for a while I'd be tempted to stick him in midfield, push Dale or Furman further forward and play someone else at RB, my choice would be Andy Holdsworth (if fit), especially for some of our tricky away games coming up.
Paul Black had a tough game today that winger of theirs did stay wide (but he had the advantage of having 5 in midfield at times) and had a lot of pace. He stuck to his task well and at his level and experience showing improvement is important and from the middle of last season he has done that comfortably for me.
BTW Prozac, the fourth offical was right to get Jones to put a bib on- he was still in his playing kit, could easily have been mistaken for one of our active players by either the linesman or one of their defenders. You don't see subs warming up like that, so the same applies to those warming down, Gregan on the other hand...
On this point I'm glad to see the sports science guy has gotten our players to warm down straight away after being subbed, that might prevent the odd little niggly injury.
good post agree about lee going to mid too and it may give dale a kick up the backside
-
i was told he was still sorting his wall when it came over
-
Sweet suffering Jesus, what was Lee doing for the third goal? He's had a great start to the season but he does have a worrying tendency to fall asleep at unfortunate times. After what Gerry Taggart said in the week about taking it personally when defenders play badly, he must have torn Lee a new arsehole after that.
not too much i hope, apart from the mistake had a good game

Kieron Lee
if i were 30 years younger

Both Hazell and Jones are fit for Saturdays clash at Peterborough. Do they both start? I think it's a given Hazell will be in the starting line up in the place of M'Voto however, will Jones get the nod too. Personally I feel he should in place of Dikaba, not that the guy was poor but due to the excellent form of Jones prior his injury. I also think as good as Kieran Lee as been all season long, Kieran has played better with Jones on his flank. The pair have a great playing relationship going down the right hand side and think it's our strongest option.
Likewise when Lewi is fit I think he's earned the right to regain his birth in the side even though Taylor had a good second half against Bristol (his best in a long good while I may add). Still Taylor as a couple more weeks to change that and cement his place in the side.
Any thoughts posters?
agree with all that i would certainly welcome all 3 back,as for dikaba agree he did ok but jones is more of a threat
-
i wasnth there either today but i can see what you mean. when he came on on tuesday, he looked pacey and go into good positions but then when we needed a good cross, it wasn't there. if he can get that better in training, we'll have a decent player
i agree,he played the position but there was no end product, maybe in the future but cant see him replacing jones
-
furman for me today but speacial mention for lee too another very good day always tries to make something happen and consistent
-
And replace Stephens with....... Holdsworth?
lee
-
Jones??? I don't rate his crossing ability at all!
I think theres far too many times when he should cross the ball he doesn't and when he does there either over hit or weak and don't beat the near post.
Kieran Lee is my choice he can cross a ball.
good point

i,d try jones from what i,ve seen of him he would do a good job
