Another game we should have won....
Would have been rhinos assessment.
And to be fair, we created more actual chances yesterday than we did in some of Unsworth’s "we should have had 4" games.

Bunn was unfairly treated first time round. That said, it was an underwhelming appointment at the time. Would rather stick with Thompson and Redfearn.
Similarities yesterday with some Unsworth's games but at least Thompson's honest with his assessments after.

Yes, previous owner of Ilkeston by all accounts, whose fans warned of him being dodgy. Someone really needs to start being held accountable for the checks on who can buy football clubs.
Unbelievable.

That reminds me of a very funny bit in one of Al Murray’s books where he laid into Hitler for bringing the toothbrush moustache into disrepute! Can’t remember the name of it and it was a few years ago (he’d probably get into trouble with some people now for being frivolous) but it was bloody funny!
Didn't he nick it off Chaplin an all?

I’ve often thought we should do the same. From memory the Jockey Club or maybe another regulator can veto “dodgy” racehorse names, so you’d think we could at least do the same for kids of parents with over-vivid imaginations

Is this a new owner who's saved them from the previous bad owner? As in bought them 3 months ago or so? Mental

So I've got a season ticket, I'm off to Wealdstone with the other 200 who have bought a ticket for Saturday but I can't go to Dale now because by the time I've finished work they've all gone, what a complete and utter fucking shambles given our end will be full of United, City, Frankfurt, Hibs daytrippers because a decision has been made to allow casual supporters to hoover up the tickets. They better be pushing for a further allocation given the monumental fucking cock up they've created.
A few losses between now and then and they'll be 1,500 spares. I ain't going as it stands so haven't got but, if owt changes and I want go, I have no doubt it'll be easy enough to get a ticket. Be worthy of its own thread on here in a couple of weeks.

Not sure if they were as rampaging last season but I think Chesterfield were top at the same stage 12 months ago before having a wobble and almost falling out altogether. Bound to have a wobble at some point. Hopefully a big one.

Let's hope we play some Liquid football this second half.
Green's strike was worthy of a "twat".

I don't think the timing can be criticised.
In hindsight, it might turn out that he should've gone earlier. I was one of the ones who'd have been happy if he'd been sacked pre-season.
That said, he'd earned the right to start this season and the club gave it as long as they could. They'd made a commitment that ended up being the wrong one. Can't blame them for leaving iong as was possible. It didn't work but it might have.

I’ve only been to that ground and it was when Sean Gregan made his debut for us and scored.

Got a bit of class about him, Thompson. Mentioned "the gaffer" a few times and the players' disappointment. Not that I believe it but it's a nice touch

I'm under the impression that Thompson doesn't want the gig, but I hope whoever gets it (Mellon) decides to keep him on in some capacity...

Oxford very much like York.
Precise attractive football with little in the final third.
Having said that, Hobson and Hogan snuffed their attacks whenever they did find space.
Hobson is very good.

It was a good night for caretaker managers. In the absence of our landlady I was in charge of the pub pool team and we won 8-2. A very rare score for us!

Just watched Thompson’s presser- didn’t know he was from Oldham. If he does well, I can see the club giving him serious thought.
I'd not be surprised if we took 7-9 points from the next 3 games.
