  1. That 800 will be 1000-ish by Saturday and like I said, most will go without tickets. That gives us at least 2000 in a stand that holds 2500. I reckon it'll be close to capacity. Woof.
  2. Got my tickets for Trampmere today. 800 sold so far, I reckon most will go without tickets. Hopefully the Cowshed will be full and bouncing. Woof.
  3. I'm seriously starting to warm to the idea of Dickov as manager. Could be the master stroke TTA deserve to come off. We could end up being one of those teams that struggle one season only to replace their manager with a young, enthusiastic, untried manager the next and go up against all the odds. Or maybe I'm getting carried away. Paul Dickov's blue and white army! (Not Crossley's, not Crossley's, not Crossley's, not Crossley's, not Crossley's....) Woof.
  4. Real coincidence this was posted last night after a conversation I had last night with someone only recently very much involved with the club and with no reason at all to be bias. I want to respect this person so will say only this: He had seen a lot happen at BP and was quite clear that the current management was the best he had seen at any club. He said that DP and MG were genuine, honest and incredibly hard-working men and was adamant they would turn things around. The conversation filled me with renewed optimism towards the club and the future. I am, having been faltering recently, a 100% Penney inner. The Penney out idiots (and they are idiots) look for a quick-fix and not the longitudinal benefits that come with the gradual construction of a positive and hard-working culture and ethos (and the process is gradual) that is conducive to a stable and ultimately successful football team. It cannot be over-stated that JR nearly took us down in his first season and that teams that chop and change managers underachieve. A bed-rock has been laid this season which although, at times, painful to witness has been a crucial first step. Things are going to get better, it might take until next season to show, but turning your back on the club now will help no-one, least of all yourself who will always know that when support was most needed, you looked the other way. Keep the faith brothers and sisters, Oldham Athletic are far from finished. Woof.
  5. Would quite possibly piss myself to death if that got sung. Woof.
  6. Sorry. I'd stupidly forgotten that an away following of Millwall supporters comprised mainly of children. Woof.
  7. I had to read that at least three times. Please tell me you're taking the piss with that comment.. Woof.
  8. Must be getting pretty crowded up there on that moral high ground.. Woof.
  9. I'm with you fella. It wouldn't cross my mind to ever think of starting trouble at a game but if a missile struck me or someone I was with at a game, especially if it was one of those mongs, they would get it right back at them, make no mistake. Two wrongs don't make a right....how old are you....just as bad as them.... Woof.
  10. Haven't you heard? We'll be playing Altrincham in 5 years shortly before we go bust. Hang yourself now and save yourself the misery. Woof.
  11. Latics crest on a St George's? I think so. Woof.
  12. The club's deterioration over the last fifteen years or so is something we've all witnessed, not just you. My problem is your incessant sniping about the capacity of the new ground. These men who own our club are trying to piece together something vaguely positive from the debris of what is (or was) Oldham Athletic AFC. I'm not happy either with a 12,000 capacity but the original Oldham Arena plans were made and released before the economic downturn. Please don't insult me and embarrass yourself by claiming this had no bearing on the decision to abort this plan. An alternative plan has been made and is going ahead (with some unfortunate, recession-induced revisions, see: capacity) and I'm going to get behind it. We're not going to get any serious investment so by your logic: We move to Failsworth and die or stay at BP and die. Personally I'd rather take my chances in a brand new stadium with steady annual revenue streams. Football at this level is bolloxed anyway, sticking another 4000 on the capacity will no more get Oldham into the Premier League as will waving my nutsack from my balcony. Woof.
  13. Sorry, so what's the alternative to this 'reinvention'? Woof.
  14. So what are our options? Our owners have limited funds. We're in the midst of a recession. Other clubs who've over spent in the way you seem keen for us to do so are sweating like pigs as they bash away at their calculators trying to make the books balance. (Is this really what you want for Oldham for the sake of a few seasons pretending to be a good Championship side?) You articulate your point (singular) very well but offer nothing in the way of suggestions as to what can be done to 'stop the rot'. Even the 'Penney-outers' who I feel could not be more wrong, at least offer alternatives to Penney to back up their criticisms of him. What are our options Corp? What are our options? (You've said before it is not your job to make suggestions and provide alternatives but the extent to which you make the same point again and again and again ad infinitum, I beg to differ.) Woof.
  15. Climb back in your basket you soppy . Hate Tranmere; gobby, track-suited, shoulderless little cretins. Now get off the computer, your bag-head hooker mum is just taking your Turkey Twizzlers out of the deep fat fryer. See you Boxing Day, no doubt shouting over a Steward's shoulder. Woof.
  16. But that you simply don't know this renders me too bored to continue. You win, we're :censored: and always will be. Woof.
